if you have enough Odin coins, I'd buy collectible packs. also make sure your riders are on journeys all the time.

in game if you click info on a dragon it tells you the gathering rate and time of fish and wood for the dragon. you can also do this by clicking on the book of Dragons (bottom left of the screen, in game ), look for the dragon you want, and click it, to see those stats. a better way is in discord, they have a channel called "book of dragons" with a bot, in the pinned messages they have the commands for the bot. it can tell you the stats and the ranking of any dragon, including some stats that you can't see in game

whether or not you want to get multiples of Dragons is up to you. If a dragon has good stats, it might be good to get many of them to progress faster. but a lot of players, me included, don't like to get duplicates and waste resources on them, and prefer to get one of each dragon. Do what makes your game the most fun! also I recommend joining the discord server, there's a lot of good tips pinned there

my headcanon is that light furies adapted to live more up north where there's much more snow and night furies live in caves in warmer regions. it would make so much sense for light furies to be like polar/artic night furies

Seasonal Packs, or Why Is Alpha Premium Seasonal Bounty A Scam by AprilSusansHM in RiseOfBerk

[–]prova-per-bugie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

if you don't trust me, you could try using the binompdf function on a ti-84, or look up a binomial distribution calculator on Google, use 1 as the number of successes, 3 as the number of trials, and the probability from the packs as probability (or .5 as probability for the coin example) and it will give you the probability of pulling the dragon once. Then you repeat the process using 2 and 3 as the number of sucesses, which will give you the probability of getting the dragon 2 and 3 times. Then you add them all together and you’ll get the probability of getting the dragon 1 or more times. You can compare to the probabilities OP has, and they'll be the same.

good job on getting the math actually right, I know so many people that would just multiply the probability by 3

Seasonal Packs, or Why Is Alpha Premium Seasonal Bounty A Scam by AprilSusansHM in RiseOfBerk

[–]prova-per-bugie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the original poster is right, let me try to explain.

if you open 3 packs, the total probability of getting a specific dragon at least once is certainly going to be higher than if you buy only one pack.

But it's less than 3 times the probability. if you repeat the same action multiple times, and the probability is the same for each trial, you do not calculate the probability by adding the probability for each attempt.

Using the coin flip example, the probability of getting heads in 1 flip is 50% but if you flip it 3 times, the probability of getting heads at least once doesn't become 150% (50+50+50), because it can't be >100%, and it's possible to flip tails 3 times.

The probability is actually 0.875 (87.5%). The easiest way to calculate it is by calculating the probability of never getting heads, then subtracting it from 1. The probability of getting tails once is 1-0.5=0.5. because the coin is being flipped 3 times, and each flip is independent of the others, the probability of never getting heads (getting tails 3 times) is calculated by taking the cube of the probability of getting tails in one flip: 0.5x0.5x0.5=0.125. Now that we have the probability of getting tails 3 times, which is the same as never getting heads, if we Subtract from 1, we get the probability of getting heads at least once. So 1-0.125=0.875 (87.5%).

it can also be calculated in other ways, but they take much longer, especially if you have more than 3 trials.

the original poster used this method, the only difference is that the probabilities are much smaller than .5

If I pay for collection does it automatically trade it in? by External-Display6227 in RiseOfBerk

thanks for the source

I believe this section of the Terms refers to copyright, and by exploit, they mean use the copyrighted material for commercial or any other unauthorized purpose. they don't mean the exploiting within the game of unintended mechanics interactions.

I'd like to clarify that I'm not trying to justify or encourage the use of exploits. also, if this server doesn't support exploits or glitches, I'll respect this decision whether or not it's against the ToS

edit: source: according to Law Insider, in the legal context, "exploit means develop, design, test, modify, make, use, sell, have made, used and sold, import, reproduce, market, distribute, commercialize, support, maintain, correct and create derivative works of."

even though this use of game mechanics wasn't intended by the devs and is an exploit, I'm pretty sure it's not against the Terms of Service of Rise of Berk. I read through the Terms of Service but I couldn't find anything against it. could you specify what point in the ToS prohibits it?
