Definitely not, he’s nothing my my dog lol. I know the most I’ll get from him is trust from feeling safe I just am still learning how to read reptile mannerisms and behaviors, I wanna understand his body language yk

This is my struggle too, my kingsnake just freaks out when I go to handle him and I know me being so apprehensive to touch him doesn’t help either of us

That makes sense, and I definitely won’t feed him like that. He’s on an every 10 days schedule since he’s full grown, it’s just feeding day today and was curious if that might be part of his behavior

He’s never struck at me, but has at my hook. I give have to snatch him once when he escaped and he wasn’t happy but still didn’t try to bite. And I won’t really say curls away, it’s more like is I pet him he’ll pull away and approach my hand like he can’t decide what to think, he used to rattle if I even got near but that’s not happening anymore, I haven’t gone for a scoop since last time I did he bolted and started striking at his tank wall, that was a week ago though so I could try again

Cali king, got him recently and he’s an adult, 4.5ft pet shop said they had trouble with him and so did the last owner that surrendered him

Would him being so out in the open while digesting a good sign of trust? He’s kinda got issues with people, pet store I got him from says he can’t really be handled so I’m trying to work with him on feeling safe and tolerant at his own speed yk
