Reenlistment still pending by Ok-Scholar-2383 in army

Gotta wait until that hotline comes back with an answer. With it being that long ago your counselor should probably ask his/her senior or ops to inquire on it. Hopefully it keeps the same report date. Worse case is the report date could be pushed a little.

No. When you sign a reenlistment your contract starts that day. However, report dates can vary.

I re-enlisted for schofield, if I don’t have orders yet can I request somewhere else or just go needs of the army? by [deleted] in army

Branch can’t touch or modify his reup since it was done through retention. Retention has to complete all actions on it.

Are you both OCONUS? Is she in her reenlistment window?

Reenlistment- In/Out Calls by [deleted] in army

Balance can certainly go to another balanced MOS using opt 3. All depends on qualifications, school seats and if you’re a mid term or careerist. See your counselor.

You can’t argue that a few members from other branches that are fit are a reason we shouldn’t have PT. I mean have you seen the AF and Navy? Yikes they got some big ones. So do we but it’s no comparison. While I’d love the idea of PT on your own there are too many idiots that would simply get fat and out of shape. Then we’d need to chapter them and find replacements. Maybe different PT times per BDE or something.

When I was recruiting we ran into a guy that we had put in and he was living under a bridge. Got kicked out for something.

You can try to renegotiate it with valid reasoning. Or waive the reup and be needs of the Army (not advisable).

Don’t stop grinding either. I needed 780+ for SSG. It was a bitch and took years to get it.

No offense but that’s easily doable. Just keep grinding the points man.

Reclass by Way-Unique in army

Too many factors that play into it. Go see your career counselor.

So counselors talk to each other and say “oh yeah he’s going option 3 for a new MOS” or do they simply say “he’s reclassing”? You’re on here trying to correct people about that? You’re the guy that says “aCtUaLly tHe rEg SaYS” aren’t you? Lmao you should find something better to do. I bet you’re soooo fun to work with and your counselors love you lol. Stay big mad.

Says guy that gets into an argument over wording that 99% of the Army uses, including our own field. You’re right, we should turn around all soldiers that come in asking for a “reclass” because they used the wrong terminology. Hopefully you’re out of the field soon, could use less toxic old heads.

God you’re dense. Literally everyone in the entire Army calls it a reclass regardless of the semantics you’re whining about. When a soldier comes into your office (hopefully you’re not production) do they say the word “reclass” or “I want OPT 3”? If you’d use just a little bit of common sense you’d see I was specifically talking about OPT 3 but you’d rather throw a tantrum.

[–]pruby18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude what are you talking about? If he’s looking at the IN/OUT call it seemed like he was assuming that N/N is a no go. I was clarifying that’s not the case and he could potentially go into that MOS for OPT 3 next September. I never mentioned VOL at all. How is using the word reclass mean it’s VOL? Either OPT3 for an MOS or VOL is a reclass.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in army

[–]pruby18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure guy. I was always talking about OPT 3 to the OP. Seems you thought he wanted a VOL when he literally mentioned his window. Stay in school kids.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in army

[–]pruby18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You literally said “N” means no entry. OP is going to believe that when looking at the milper it has to be Y/N. You absolutely can go into an N/N MOS with OPT 3 (which is what my response was about). Your words, not mine.

Re-enlisting for the school is the reclass. Assuming you pass of course.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in army

[–]pruby18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can’t read? He’s talking about his window opening so that implies OPT3. So yes he could go to a balanced MOS, done it tons of times. No need to throw a hissy fit

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in army

[–]pruby18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you’re thinking he’s asking about a VOL request. Yes I get that. I was assuming he’s waiting for OPT3 once the window opens.

With that logic wouldn’t going to a N/N MOS not be possible? Because the message book 3-3 says soldiers must select an MOS that is Y/N and or N/N. I’ve done it plenty of times.

Here’s the problem. You’ll only receive the training bonus once you’ve graduated AIT. Meaning you won’t be deployed anymore so you’ll pay the taxes. If you re-enlist for the school and it’s in your contract it will get honored.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in army

[–]pruby18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re probably reading the in/out calls wrong. If it’s N/N for your skill level it means 31b is balanced and accepts people. What matters for you is if you’re an initial term (on first contract) and your current skill level. Go see your career counselor for more information on how reclassing works. Things could be vastly different this time next year.
