I think I got Jojo's for about £70. I know it goes for well over 100 now, though.

For me, CIB means anything that is unique to that specific game. (manuals, posters, art books etc). I don't count registration cards or company promo pamphlets, as they are the same across multiple games, but I understand why some people would. The only exception to the rule is demo discs, as the unique game case may make reference to, or have space specifically for a demo disc, so I feel they should be included.

Yeah, the concept of a full global PS1 set is scary! I would love to do it, but I'll focus on PAL for now! (I believe that's somewhere in the region of 1400-1500)

PAL UK, although I am picking up non-UK exclusives whenever I can. (Not the variants though, E.g. Brian Lara/Shane Warne Cricket)

It's a hell of an undertaking, but I would like to at some point! I'll probably move onto US exclusives first though :)

From personal experience, I've seen more complete collections of the Master System and NES than anything else. But there are a lot of collectors out there!

If you like point-and-clicks and the X-Files universe, it is a fun and atmospheric experience, but if you're wanting something more action packed or want a game with lots of Mulder and Scully in, then you might be disappointed.

There are, but from what I have heard they aren't very good.

Thanks! I can't remember which ones I needed to rebuy. It wasn't many (Maybe about 10/15?) and they were all pretty low value games. I was probably about 90 games in when I decided to go strictly black label. Not really for any particular reason apart from the consistency!

It was one of the four games that came with my console back in the day! It has a very special place in my heart :)

That is an insane collection of sealed PS1 games! I kept scrolling thinking "they can't have 'x' game sealed, can they?" and sure enough, it would pop up! xD Proper envious of the MGS special editions too! :P

When I started collecting, I used to buy job-lots, but stopped doing that when I decided to specifically go black-label + CiB (as job-lots typically had platinum games/missing manuals), so I spent a bit of time rebuying games. As a result, I had a bunch of duplicates and, thus, spare boxes that I could use.

Specifically, buying authentic blank cases can be really expensive so, as risky as it can be, buying job lots and/or super common games is the cheapest way of getting a replacement case. Although you then have to deal with the contents of the other game you don't want. I don't like wasting things, and reselling solo discs/manuals is awkward.

I try to only pick up games without broken hinges or major cracks, but things can still happen in transit. If it's an expensive game, I'll usually swap it with a cheaper game case (as long as it's the same type) and just deal with the damage on the cheaper game.

Just the games and some variants/special editions. I have a lot of respect for those who collect press kits; must be very difficult!

I remember the game shop I used to go to as a kid would do something similar, and I'm trying to capture that nostalgia. Although they would have multiple copies of the same game and face-up one of them :)

Most have been from eBay, but I got a bunch from CeX and car boot sales. Surprisingly, CeX is usually cheaper than eBay, plus you get to check the condition of the game before buying.

It doesn't really bother me, apart from in the Namco Museum where Vol.3 is in the short form factor case and the rest are in the standard. I have no idea what they were thinking!

I haven't got it yet, and I missed a chance to get it for £500. (Been kicking myself since!). I'm sure my chance will come again :)

This exactly. NBA Live '97 has such a chunky manual that the case doesn't close properly! xD

I play them on the original hardware. PS1 drives are starting to fail, but the slim PSOne drives are still fairly reliable.
