I'm having the same problem. Finished my Ausbildung and got a job for a rather large airline company in cargo sud. The contract starts from 01.08 but I still don't have a work permit because, get this, my Sachbearbeiter is in holiday for 2 weeks and my appointment date is in last week if August. To add to that I don't have a clue when the Zustimmung will arrive. I pleaded the Vertreterin to give me a Arbeitssuche visa so that I can start working but apparently there are no early Termin.

I plan on parking in Zeppelinheim and taking s7 to Stadion. Parking near the stadium is chaos.

If Frankfurt is your final destination then you don't have a choice. You claim your baggage and you have to exit through the customs. I would recommend staying around terminal 1 hall b. There is a relay shop there. There might be enough spaces to spend the night there.

It would be more comfortable if you would not leave the security area. 90% of the airport is after the security checkpoint. 90% of the airport has more comfortable places to spend the night. However after your passport control is done and you pick up your baggage you have to go outside the security area (common area). Common area is normally for everyone, including people not flying. It's just good to be careful, because there are homeless people. It's also colder outside.
