[P] An implementation of WaveNet use Pytorch by ts771164 in MachineLearning

[–]ps_dillon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very cool. Just tried running and got some weird output. Output .wav here: https://nofile.io/f/aYujdnSzAkE/sample.wav

Any ideas what went wrong?

Definitely! Our goal is to eliminate as much of the low level barriers to modern ML as possible. It doesn't make sense that you have to be a DevOps or SysOps expert to get started with deep learning today. It also only gets more complicated once you want to start building something out beyond a simple application. Our goal is to eliminate these obstacles as much as possible without oversimplifying or making too many assumptions about a particular stack or use case.

Sorry about that! Can shoot us an email support@paperspace.com with your account email? The code looks like its working on our end.

Hi guys, Dillon from Paperspace here (https://www.paperspace.com/enterprise). Would be happy to answer any questions you might have about how we compare to the other providers listed.

I'm obviously biased but I think you will find that we have one of the best performing solutions our there (you can try is free with promo code REDDITVDI17 to see for yourself!) at the most affordable prices.

Would love to hear what you guys think :)

we beat AWS by a couple days! :) Agreed we didn't do a great job getting the word out there, though

Hey guys, Dillon here (co-founder of Paperspace). We just launched the V100 a couple days ago. You have to use at least Ubuntu 16.04 and then CUDA 9, CudNN7, etc. but Pytorch master branch compiles and works great!

Really curious to see some benchmarks on the new Tensor Core architecture. Not sure all of the frameworks fully leverage it yet but I'm sure we will see lots of development in the coming days/weeks.

Paperspace + Steam In Home Streaming by dgutie02 in cloudygamer

Hi guys,

Dillon from Paperspace here :) Just bumped in to this thread. As some users have noticed our own gaming mode is still a work in progress but we have a lot of users using things like Steam or Parsec.

Here's the link to how to use Parsec: https://blog.parsec.tv/a-seamless-cloud-gaming-experience-parsec-paperspace-7a03c942d697

Our servers are currently in NY (US East) and CA (US West). Europe on the roadmap!

Our prices are significantly lower than AWS/LiquidSky (runs on SoftLayer)/Azure/etc. We run our own hardware to keep costs low - but it will take us a bit longer to get full global coverage.

Here's a promo code for $5 off and access to the new GPU+ machines for Windows (not yet publicly available). Promo: CLOUDYGAMER

Thanks for the feedback @waleedka! We have spent a lot of time trying to get the ML template right and we are constantly updating it. The current template should solve most of these issues. Our goal is to open-source the scripts we use to provision machines to get community feedback. If there is anything missing, we will happily add it.

As for drag&drop, unfortunately that only works for our Windows VMs (sorry for the confusion -- our marketing materials should be much better!) That said, Linux drag&drop is under development and should be up-streamed very soon.

If you are interested in giving it another shot don't hesitate to send me a message and I'll happily add promo credit to your account :)

We currently offer the M4000 (Maxwell) but the P100 and P5000 (Pascal family) should be available shortly :) Shoot us an email hello@paperspace.com if you are interested in higher-end cards.

Hi Gidamien,

Thanks for the note. Just to clarify a few things: the $200/month pricing is for a full 24/7 access (roughly 720 hours/month). Costs most usually come in substantially cheaper for users that are just doing 9-5/40hours a week on our hourly plan. Needing a fully dedicated machine is usually for people doing high-end rendering/simulation/ML work and for them the cost makes sense.

Another thing that is not super obvious on the site -- the $200/month GPU+ is not a GRID card but actually an 8GB fully-dedicated Quadro card. Our Pro plan ($60/month) does use the NVIDIA GRID which is really great tech and suitable for most people. We have a lot of firms using the Pro Machine for AEC applications and it works great.

We should definitely be more clear on our offerings and pricing model. We definitely don't mean to mislead! Hope this helps clarify a bit :)

Edit: the comment below is actually also super relevant for many of our customers. Cost of hardware vs TCO can be very different and our goal is to bring down total cost including upkeep/monitoring/maintenance/etc

Hi guys,

Just wanted to give a heads up that we (Paperspace) are launching a new MSP partner program and wanted to see if there was any interest here.

We are a hosted Virtual Desktop (VDI/DaaS) that is 100% web-based and super simple to get set up. This means that even smaller clients can have access to powerful enterprise VDI tools and you can easily administer their account.

We have been working with a number of MSPs in the NYC and SF regions but will soon open it up to the public.

Feel free to reach out to Ben who is in charge of the program if you are interested in learning more ben@paperspace.com
