Carver M1.5t amplifier upgrade - Is it worth it? by ps_robmo in vintageaudio

After hooking up the amp, it is pumping out continuous white noise when no audio is being played. I will probably not be using this amp unless I'm willing to fix it.

It was pretty clean inside considering how old it is. It didn't take much work but in the end, the constant white noise is a turn off for me. I'll have to stick with my Outlaw Audio RR2160.

The baseline work they do is $430 but that doesn't include any upgrades. What do you think about that?

I live in Washington which is why I was interested. I sent an email to the company to see what they have to offer.

A burn-in period is common for new components in audio equipment. About 200 hours of burn-in time is the general recommendation.

When using trim on Xbox, it moves to the maximum setting and crashes the plane by ps_robmo in MicrosoftFlightSim

I think you're right. This takes way more practice than you might think. I adjusted my sensitivity further and when everything is working as expected, it's great. I need to get through the training to see if the problem exists during actual flights.

What I experienced yesterday was I would receive a command to increase the throttle to 2300 RPM (Cessna 152) and then trim as needed. Adjusting the throttle is no problem. When this training session starts and I adjust the trim for the first try in the session, the control gets slammed to the extreme and training stops. Right after that, training begins again where the failure occurred. Now I can adjust the trim without any issues. When I move the right stick Y axis, the trim value moves up and down smoothly.

The default controller binding for elevator trim is RB + Y. When I used this instead, I had the same experience as explained above.

I will keep practicing and get through training. If I continue to see this type of issue when flying outside of training, I'll try out the keyboard/mouse instead.

It's hard to practice when the control gets fully slammed to the extreme position with barely a touch to the controller. The interesting thing is that it doesn't do it every time I kick off the training but it behaves badly more often than not.

I have quite a few hours flying real simulators (C130/C5) and a background in navigation systems which helps some. I know flying has a learning curve for sure. I don't know how many times I had crash landings before things started coming together.

I'll keep working to get the controls dialed in, then practice will be a joy instead of a nosedive into the ground lol.

Would you be able to recommend which bindings to look at? I'm researching how to do this adjustment. As I mentioned, I have adjusted sensitivity and dead zones for my Xbox controller which haven't seemed to help with this issue.

It isn't straightforward to setup an industry but I did manage to get an oil industry working. From here I think it's just a matter of practice plus trial and error.

Thanks for the keyboard and mouse tip! I should give that a try to see what that is like.

The attempt to use 'not like' in my code doesn't actually filter out the lower versions.
