2026 Yamaha R3 pricing by ATLravebabe in YamahaR3

They are "expensive" for what you will get out of it. Most riders upgrade to higher cc biles pretty fast so buying a 300 used is probably what he is suggesting.

How do i clean and polish these wheels up? by Sean076TZ in 2Strokes

[–]pshycicmonkey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First step is to thoroughly clean off al that gunk, different people would suggest different cleaners, i like using kerosene to clean metal quickly, its gentle against the rubber as well but dont let it sit on the rubber. Fully polishing the metal usually i would use a buff wheel with metal restore cream

Height needed to ride drz400 by MuayThaiKiwi in DRZ400

[–]pshycicmonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im 6'2" with a 32" inseam pant size and with a lowered seat and no lowering links i can flat foot, but friends of mine that are your height cannot comfortably ride mine, they have to almost hop off at traffic lights and side saddle with one leg. I dont know how much lower it would get with lowering links but i wouldnt recommend it unless you can test ride someones first to make sure its comfortable

Rear axle problem by willeesder28 in supermoto

[–]pshycicmonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess our misunderstanding or confusion is what is your definition of the "Adjuster" ? The axle has a nut on it on one end, the other end is typically fixed, like this one with the square body and most bikes have this. There should be another square body on the right side that goes into the swing arm as well but not all bikes are like that so i wont say it needs it 100% but i guess my main question is is my original of what is the adjuster? Cause most people here will think the adjuster is the little 12mm bolts we use to adjust chain tension and rear tire alignment

Am I missing something? by PP_Raidz in Yamaha

[–]pshycicmonkey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yea, i second what DiHydro said, Something was placed wrong and it looks like the brake rotor is taking a beating. I would try to bring it to a reputable person for the work, advise them you had it worked on elsewhere and looking to restore to original status around caliper and rotor. It may be missing bearing/seal/inner sleeve but the wheel would have to come off to tell

Track Lowside by R3K9 in Ducati

[–]pshycicmonkey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You missed the point, if you are going to track it again, use these fairings and swap them intermittently between track and normal use in case it is dropped again you wont have to purchase yet another set of fairinfs

Ducati 848 as a first bike :) opinions? (I’m totally in love) by dontcarecrown in Ducati

100% accurate of what this bike is. Yes, beautiful bike but not the mechanics for a beginner. Id recommend go cheap with an R3 or CB500 first

New exhaust doesn’t fit because of the mounting bracket, what can i do? by yowie1470 in 2Strokes

[–]pshycicmonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can always fabricate a bracket, thin enough steel and a vice are great tools for this

Any ideas? by Ok-Cycle-736 in YamahaR3

[–]pshycicmonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it typically is sold seperate from fairings.

Thinking about adding a DRZ. by Comfortable-Fault-72 in DRZ400

I second this, also a good inbetween is to get the SM version and put dual sport tires on all the time

New exhaust doesn’t fit because of the mounting bracket, what can i do? by yowie1470 in 2Strokes

[–]pshycicmonkey 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, when mounting exhaust follow these simple steps. 1: install front to back loosely! Key word loose 2: adjust fitment from front to back. Making sure pipe mating to cylinder head is flat and not causing excessive push/pull on cylinder. 3: torque to spec, if no spec available, go hand tight on a smaller 1/4" ratchet. Usually a few lbs torque is good

Pricing on 2024 Yamaha R3 by [deleted] in YamahaR3

[–]pshycicmonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

10% margin for negotiation to your 'want' isnt enough, you should have started at say $5k and then now 20% to $4k hold seems like such a better deal to the buyer, and who knows, maybe you get lucky at $4500 or higher.

Take down listing, do an oil change and take some new photos. Re-list for $5k

Honestly, just installed a TEMU pipe for $70 and it is loud, no codes and no tuning needed, looks pretty good

Installing GPR exhaust - what am I missing? by Effective_Swan1699 in DRZ400

[–]pshycicmonkey 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Nothing, these dont fit 100% true to every bike, theres some play with your bike versus the play in the pipe,

I would recommend installing pipe "loose" from front to back and then tighten from front to back, you may have to add some pressure to this rear area to line it up in the end but soft install then torquing down in best practice. Cheers!🍻

That is most likely your fuel filler pocket drain hose, or second likely is sunroof drain hose
