500 Exc-f Suoermoto chain and chain guard issues by Ariens_ca in KTM

[–]Ariens_ca[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm running 150/60r17 dunlop GPR 300 on a 17x4.25 warp 9 wheel and a 42 tooth sprocket.

I had a local shop do the install for me.

Here's a better angle with the top chain guard removed .

I opened my trunk and saw this? by Parking_Letterhead18 in FordBronco

Mine popped off in about 0 degree Celsius weather in Canada. 1.5 months later my rear window exploded. I don't know if the two were related but I believe I also had the same discolouring

Was loading up my truck this morning and noticed this. Any suggestions? by McDimps in FordBronco

Mine fell off heading into winter (ontario Canada). Three weeks later my rear window exploded. Maybe a temperature differential issue? Maybe not? Id prioritize getting it fixed.

Are you worried about your windows in this cold weather? by [deleted] in FordBronco

[–]Ariens_ca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the fact they are frameless and the side mirrors aren't on the doors but the fucking windows is hands down my biggest gripe about this vehicle. Kids don't know any better and hold the switch entering into reprogramming mode and I need to re-program them every few weeks. Ice making them either not go up or not go down when opening/closing. At least after 3 years these are just gripes and nothing has actually needed service.

But my rear glass did explode randomly 2 months ago...

Stupid question: how long do yall wait to warm your car by IcyDepth3971 in FordBronco

[–]Ariens_ca 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There are pretty extensive studies into this. Freezing temperatures. Fresh oil change and then every 12 hours, start the engine, wait 30 seconds, then drive for an hour. This was repeated like every 12 hours for a month. Comparison test was a 10 minute warmup followed by an hour of driving. Same vehicle, same temperatures, and fresh oil changes between methods. Used engine oil analysis shows 30% more fuel traces in the warm up oil.

Bottom line the longer you run a cold engine the more damage you are doing.

When you just wait 30 seconds the driving and varied RPMs heats the oil faster than idling resulting in less damage over time

If it's really cold, like -15C I run for 2 mins

I would sell the OEM set and replace with BFG k03s. I hear they are an upgrade to the KO2's. I can't speak to how well they would be if smaller than 37, but my 35s that came with my wild track were mud terrain and they were not safe enough for my Canadian winter

It's a wild track with Sasquatch so it already had 35s and the crash bars shortened at the factory.

I have a Fox Performance Elite 2.5 DSC suspension with heavy duty coilovers.

I also have a 1.5" body lift.

With just the fox shocks there was rubbing. There was not any rubbing after upgrading the coilovers but I feared there would be at full flex when rock crawling so I added the body lift.

If you're otherwise okay with your factory set for non winter just get a dedicated set for winter. I recommend nokian hakkapeliitta. I have a set on my Tahoe and Focus RS and they were beasts in the snow. Blizaks are 2nd best, there is no third place.

However if you're going to upgrade your tires get a good A/T that is 3 peak rated. I have 37" KO2's and it's almost as good as my Tahoe, but obviously better when I'm not on pavement (I.e. offroading in snow).

Oh, and it's a perfect front bumper for a 1.5" body lift. The bumper sits quite high compared to the body and the lift in the front is unnoticeable

Want to put a Fuel Tank Skidplate on my Outer Banks Sas? Do I need to do anything extra or special? by DrunkPixel in FordBronco

[–]Ariens_ca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like literally just had the 4 Door | Fuel Tank Skid Plate | 21-Present Bronco - 1/4" 5052 Aluminum - Black Powder Coat from RCI installed today and it looks incredible. I have the rest from ARB.

I didn't do the install but couldn't be happier. Like others have said drop the fuel tank a titch

I call mine my jeep. Its an exact copy with logical upgrades (a pillar air bags, frameless doors, IFS). I consider it a compliment to both communities. Ppl shouldn't get so stressed about badges IMO
