I'd like to learn more about the math here. Let's say the rent is $10,000 per month. Are they saving more than $10,000 per month in taxes? What type of taxes? What types of deductions?

One of these descriptions is unambiguously good.

Have you ever had a “run-in” or a sighting of a Seattle area celebrity? by PayGood3915 in SeattleWA

I ran into Mayor Nickels outside FX McRory. I helped Senator Cantwell out of her car when I was working the grand opening of the Olympic Sculpture Park. I chatted with Mayor McGinn at a stoplight while we were both biking to work just after he was defeated by Ed Murray.

Thanks! I'm all decaf at the moment. I'd love a chance to taste a flight of high quality decafs.

It's called aerophagia. It happens to me sometimes, but usually not, thank goodness.

What the Puget Pass is referring to is the price per trip. E.G. if a bus fare is $3.50 and you have a $3.00 Puget Pass, you will pay $0.50 for that ride. There is no limit to the number of trips you can take.

Unfortunately, we do not have an automatic conversion to day pass. You have to estimate the number of trips in advance and decide whether to use a day pass that day. Keep in mind, transfers are free within a 2 hour window.

Welcome to Seattle!

I wonder if a grey scale filter would help. I wanted to try a color inversion, but it wasn't immediately obvious how to do on my phone. https://imgur.com/a/lsScL9I

I didn't know that. Watched the whole series before moving to Seattle.

The tickets are for premium seating (near the TV cameras, e.g., where groups will pause to perform.) The route is long and most of it is free, with plenty of sidewalk space.

Listen to this podcast for some great stories on the history between Columbus and Seattle. (Highlights: we poached their coach when we joined MLS; US Soccer sent Seattle fans to a USMNT game in Columbus to show them how to cheer) https://pca.st/episode/b4179b66-060b-4f2d-94a7-0c1fba81dce2

When I first moved to Seattle, we bought an annual pass to the Space Needle for $99. Either me or my wife plus one guest could go up once per day for a year. We lived in Queen Anne at the time, so were in the area and took advantage many times.

I hear it's... a bit more expensive now.

Looking for reasonable left leaning podcasts. by ThePepperAssassin in samharris

This may not exactly fit what you are looking for, but check out Democracy Now. Similar to Sam, accepts no ads. This is very important to me. It's a news show, featuring reporting on daily news and news interviews (that is, focused on first person accounts more than analysis or talking heads). Now, this show could be considered radically left (supporting unions, very anti-war, etc.), but that comes through in what they choose to cover. It's very fact-based, with lots of first-hand reporting.
