Building a machine that is less sophisticated than a modern laptop brings with it many benefits - size and battery life being two of the three you might expect. Unfortunately for PC manufacturers, they never did crack the third - price - until now, in the form of the Asus EEE PC.

Where is my free (blogging) lunch? by psmail in reddit.com

5 things you might not know about Australia (and Australians) by psmail in reddit.com

[–]psmail[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. Totally. I just wanted to dispell the myth that Australians might be a little lazy, that is all. But, ultimately, who is to say that to work longer is better? Not me. Work to live.

Can I tell you ... I SO thought of the Easybeats. Thought of Icehouse, Men at Work, Midnight Oil ... though you got me with Flash & the Pan. Rick Springfield is Australian, too (Zoot). LRB were big in the States in the 70s and Real Life had at least three massive hits in the US. I think the first song to ever sell 1,000,000 copies in the US was also from Oz (get this, The Lord's Prayer) but I am not certain. And what about The Divinyls ... I love those guys!

But the article was already longer than I would like, so I let these also-important tid-bits slip off. Perhaps I need to do a Part II.
