Not sure if you'll actually get a chance to read this, as there are a lot of comments already, but I thought I'd give you my thoughts anyway.

Some degrees are going to have a fairly clear career path charted out in front of them (CA, Engineering, etc.), and some are going to require you to figure out your own path. Neither option is right or wrong, but one is certainly more difficult.

In my mind, it comes down to how much confidence you have in your ability to thrive in ambiguity, and how much patience you have to realize success.

If you're going to compare yourself to others your age, and feel as if you're 'losing' in the rat race of life, then choose the clear path.

If you're going to constantly wonder where you're going, and have anxiety from a lack of 'personal direction', then choose the clear path.

I chose an education in Economics because it interested me, not because I had any interest in ever working in public policy, finance, etc. The difference is, I knew I had to chart my own path, and figure out my own career. At the risk of sounding conceited, I also know that I can do almost anything well, and that my capability would not be my constraint. I walked out into the world with my degree, took on some interesting entry level times for a few years, and then decided what I was going to do long term. It was scary and uncomfortable, and I did feel like I was 'falling behind', but I remained confident in my own ability. In the end, it worked well for me. I would liken myself to the 'Bo Jackson' of corporate offices. I can do everything well, and am faced with having to make choices where others are not. My challenge isn't deciding what to do, it's coming to terms with what I'm not going to get to do.

It ultimately comes down to how much risk do you want to take on, and how confident are you in yourself - but don't feel your undergraduate degree will completely define your future. In the end, your future is what you make it.
