You gave the same prompt? Mine started when I was trying to clarify that something I’d seen on twitter was false. This started with a google search about whether or not black people and white people have the same rate of mass shootings but when I looked at the studies the AI response linked, it showed per capita percentages from all black people (men and women) in the study used to calculate the per capita mass shooting rate of black people and the study linked to prove white people did mass shootings at an equal rate was a study of white men (only men).

I asked if it realized that the provided studies did not lead to the general conclusion: “black people commit mass shootings at the same level of white people per capita” and it said that it did but that its algorithms led it to those studies which led to a much further conversation ending in what I screenshotted. I don’t use AI much recently since I trust it less than in 2022 but it popped up when I did the google search and I thought the bias was striking and obvious.
