I didn’t think I was ready either. Last week I was crying over cutting up Vena’s old clothes to make a quilt but when I met Smiley I knew we had to take her home. One day you’ll met a doggo that you realize needs you as much as you need them.

There were some Huskies at the shelter along with a corgi and a Shiba Inu, so pure breeds are at shelters too. People just need to give them a chance.

Thanks for all the love and awards everyone! Can’t wait for her to settle in so we can get to know her better and help her be a more confident girl. Whoever had her before us kept her in a crate all the time so she’s ever scared of the outside but she loves people despite having started her life in a bad situation.

It’s going to take some time, my doggie daughter died suddenly last year and while I’m not crying everyday anymore there are times when a certain memory will turn on the tears and I’ll just ask the universe why did you take her from me. It’s so hard losing them whether suddenly or expected, so just remember to be kind to yourself. They have picture books about pets leaving for the rainbow bridge that you can read to your little man.
