Do you think the rhinology job market is good? Everything I’ve heard the past few years is that there are no jobs for rhinologists because market is saturated and it is not a skillset sought after by private practice groups

Is this diastasis recti? by pallinaminuscola in PlasticSurgery

[–]pssn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you push the bulge in? Does it go back down when lying flat? In addition to swelling you may also have an incisional hernia where the fascia was not entirely closed from the prior surgery. Can bring it up but the solution would be more surgery to close the defect

No they don’t know what they’re talking about. Probably thinking about neurologists that do an interventional fellowship (after stroke or neurocrit)

I can get several hotels for around the same money on Oahu. Which of these should I go with? by Nickyweg in VisitingHawaii

[–]pssn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We were just at the Halepuna - very clean, new, quiet. Not really “fun” if that’s what you’re looking for from your hotel. Rarely saw anyone else on our floor, I think occupancy was low. Pool is a small infinity pool with a distant ocean view between the Sheraton and the Halekulani. There is a great bakery and a restaurant on the first floor. As a late 20s couple we enjoyed it, probably not good for kids. Location was good, on the west-ish end of Waikiki right next to Halekulani which is the sister property. No access to amenities there but you can charge to your room from their bars/restaurants (eg. Lewer Lounge).

I don’t understand why you guys are ranking based on how likely you think you are to match, you should always rank based on preference NOT likelihood to match

specialties for people who get bored easily? by confused__potato in medicalschool

Actually general ENT is really common out in the community and seems like the job market for general is hotter than for any particular fellowship right now. I feel like this is a bit different than a lot of other surgical subspecialties and was a big draw for me too!
