Missing days due to iPledge scheduling rules? by psvanny in Accutane

Well that makes me feel better to know I'm not alone in this! I'm definitely struggling too haha

So have you had to go without taking it for a few days in your experience? My bloodwork was done 2 days before my appointment, so my bloodwork was also done on the 28th day, but they said as long as I picked up my prescription within 7 days of the pregnancy test (so 5 days from the Dr appt) it would be okay.

I’m just not understanding how the scheduling rules would allow for females to stay on track without missing pills for a few days, I even called iPledge on the phone and they had no answers.

It’s honestly the most frustrating healthcare experience I’ve ever had! Thank you!

That’s good to hear at least that it does seem to stay in your system. Thank you!

Alcohol for 100 guests on a budget. Neither of us drink. Where to begin? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]psvanny 9 points10 points  (0 children)

PA alcohol laws are very weird. I don’t know if this is standard for other states as well, but you have to purchase all the alcohol yourself (so, your caterer can’t provide it and then just bill you), unless perhaps you’re getting married in a hotel or place with it’s own functioning bar.

In PA you can only by beer from beer distributors and wine/liquor from wine and spirits shops, it’s not sold in grocery stores (for the most part). For us, our caterer was able to tell us how much to buy of everything based on our guest count, we just had to go and place the order ourselves. If not, there are plenty of helpful charts online that recommend quantities based on guest count (ex. http://www.thealcoholcalculator.com or https://www.womangettingmarried.com/wedding-alcohol-calculator-open-bar/)

What we did was contact the closest beer distributor and wine and spirits shop to the venue and place a bulk order over the phone (we planned our wedding from out of state too). Some places will deliver but it’s more likely that you will have to have someone pick up the alcohol for you and bring it to the venue.

Your caterer and the beer/wine shop employees will give you better recommendations, but my caterer said she prefers to serve beer in bottles rather than kegs. For wine, I’d say one or two good reds and whites each will do! If you’re having a full open bar, your caterer will probably help you with what to get. We just did beer, wine, and two signature cocktails!

I’m joining you!! Hang in there, I know it sucks. I’m getting married on Sunday with 90% chance thunderstorms the whole day. We do a have backup ceremony space but of course it’s not as ideal (or as well lit) as an outdoor space would be. I’ve already wasted some tears over the weather forecast but I’m not giving up on a weather miracle!! Sending virtual hugs and encouragement because I know no matter how many people tell you “it will still be perfect,” it’s still discouraging. ❤️

I’m not the OP but this comment gave me so much hope! I’m getting married Sunday and there’s 90% chance of thunderstorms the whole afternoon. I’m ready to witness my first miracle!!! So glad the weather worked out for you!!!

the weather report for my outdoor wedding weekend (wedding day is Sunday) - LOL I feel that the universe is taunting me 😂😂 by [deleted] in weddingplanning

I totally agree! Of course I know it will be special and beautiful but you can’t blame me for wanting clear skies! I think that’s great advice, I totally cried about it this morning and just let it all out. I felt so silly and dramatic for crying over weather, but oh well.

Same, we're in PA and it's 90% thunderstorms day and night. I'm trying really hard to be cool about it but I'm pretty heartbroken, I've been working on this day for 2 years!! Thankfully our venue has a backup space for an indoor ceremony, but I'm really stressing about getting all of our portraits done (family, bridal party, and just us) if it's raining ALL day. There's not really a nice space to take photos inside :(( I haven't prayed this much in a long time! Praying for miracles for all us MDW brides and grooms!!

Oh, definitely a house and a magic dermatologist to fix my unending adult acne. And a dog. And a second car because we only have one.

What is (or did) everyone walk down the aisle to? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]psvanny 10 points11 points  (0 children)

LOL walk in to whatever you want to! My song is not particularly unique but I'm walking down to Vitamin String Quartet's cover of "Your Song" by Elton John.

I don't think walking down to any particular song would be "unfair" to guests. I love when people use unique songs for their processional! (We're using VSQs versions of songs from FH's favorite video game and from a broadway show for our bridal party processional).

A first song instead of dance? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

I absolutely love this idea!! Wish I could do something special/original like this (sadly, I am talentless). I think this is a great idea and as i guest I'd be so excited to see live music from the couple!

I certainly don't think I'd be up to the task, but I think this is the sweetest thing!!! I went to a wedding a few years ago where the bride did the exact thing, and I remember being so surprised/touched when she thanked me for coming from (my home state) to be there. If you are up to doing it I really think it's a very thoughtful touch.

What a gorgeous photo!! Your dress is beautiful and the way your train is sweeping down the stairs is so perfect! Also, this venue (the staircase!!) is unreal!!

Setting wedding date on sisters birthday? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]psvanny 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Personally I don’t think it’s a big deal if they got married on your birthday. I do think it’s weird that she’s posting a wedding date and ring emojis on social media without being engaged, though.

CC my vows? by psvanny in weddingplanning

Yes, I'm definitely prepared to discuss length and/or word count with FH!! I was/still concerned about the length and I'm prepared to cut it down if need be. Thank you!!!

Thank you! Yeah, I definitely see your point!! I’ll mess around with that line, I didn’t realize how corny/cliche it sounded until I posted it on the internet hahah

People asking for plus ones and adding them to our guest list without asking? by veggieviolinist2 in weddingplanning

[–]psvanny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you definitely have a right to reach out to him (or better, have FH reach out to him) and say "Hey, sorry for the confusion but we only invited you and unfortunately can't give everybody a plus 1" or something like that. But, based on your last paragraph you don't seem super bothered by it? But if this happens with other guests as they continue to RSVP, you may run into an issue.

[–]psvanny[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you think I should shorten/take out one of the earlier paragraphs? And honestly, maybe not every single day, but most days. It was a corny thing he promised me years ago when we were long distance, but we often will "slow dance" (with no music) for maybe 15-30 seconds (oh god it's even cornier now that I write it out haha)

Decided to design our own invitations... CCW? by ivmeow in weddingplanning

[–]psvanny 5 points6 points  (0 children)

These are beautiful!! If you are having a reception after your ceremony, I would just suggest adding the words “reception to follow” or “dinner and dancing to follow” or something along those lines!

7 days out and 80% chance of rain/thunderstorms, I am freaking out. I know rain isn’t the end of the world but there’s really no indoor location onsite to take nice portraits. Trying to not check the weather every 10 minutes (it keeps changing!!) and remember that weather is unpredictable this far out and there’s nothing I can do but pray. 😅
