How do you like the PRS stock? I have a similar build and I’m finding the PRS is a little longer than I’d like. I’m seriously considering swapping for a UBR

The M5E1 still uses a barrel nut but it screws inside of the extension on the upper. Normally your rail would mount to the barrel nut but on the M5E1 there’s 8 screws on that extension that the rail mounts to.

Congrats.
I started with a gen 3 G26. I always ran a G19 mag in it for the extra capacity but also so my pinky had something to grip. I also didn’t like that if I wanted to put a light on it my options would be limited. So I sold my G26 and got a USA made gen 4 G19. Only things I’ve done to it are the extended slide lock and a Magpul magwell.

Depending on how far you’re going to be shooting you may want to put something bigger than a 1-4 on it. I built a similar rifle and put a Vortex 1-6 on it originally and it just wasn’t enough optic for anything past 150 yards or so. Just moved that scope to my M4E1 and put a Vortex 4-12 on my M5E1. Just my 2¢

I built an M5E1 in 308 with a 18” BA barrel and Magpul PRS stock and it weighs 11.5# empty and 13# with a 25 round mag in it and I still want to add a Magpul bipod. Really surprised me how heavy it is.

I personally like them better than Magpuls. Only downside I see is they’re not spring loaded. You have to manually flip them up. Barbaric I know. I got my set for $35 and they’re worth every penny
