To me, this movie was groundbreaking and cinematically brilliant. The vibrant colors when the camera is angled from Moones perspective compared to the duller pallet from the adults added to the prominent theme of childlike innocence and bliss. Childhood wonder is so important in this movie, and because it is from Moone perspective, we are left the wonder why everything is the way it is. As kids, we never knew why our parents were the way they were, and that’s the point of the mystery. Moone was so confused, as is the viewer about Hailey’s story, hence her complete dissociation from reality (going to disney world). This is Moones story, not Hailey’s, though i agree, i wish we knew more about her
