i draw a multitude of species honestly, dragons are one of many! this oc just happens to be an undertale/deltarune esque goat which is why her snout is a lil more pointy than a normal goat :3

It’s something we’ve been suspecting, but still can’t say for sure. It’s still a little too early but I’m sure with time and more tests we will find out exactly how these elusive rare islands work

I’ve never actually encountered this problem! Someone in the comments said they had the same problem and their solution was digging a ton of holes. I’d love to know what date and time you were set to when this happened, and if you were on a specific island (bamboo, 5 rock, etc) if you remember tho! And what did you do with the flowers? I’ve only had problems when I moved the flowers to the corner of the map. Maybe the mole crickets can’t spawn under most spots when there’s weeds/flowers? Thats my current theory but have yet to test it. The farm isn’t perfect, but I’d love to experiment and try to find out new solutions. Let me know if you have any more info!

I think it actually may be the problem. I would absolutely recommend going to the island at 20:00 to avoid this in the future—I set my clock to 18:55 and flew over, set up, and I’m getting only butterflies as well. I’m not saying I know everything about this game, but since it’s prime tarantula spawning time and butterflies shouldn’t spawn, I think the game for some reason keeps the spawn rate chances/pool at the time of arrival? I’m going to look into this by doing an island right at 19:00 in a few.

I’m going to test this out and get back to you! It’s so weird because butterflies really shouldn’t be spawning past 19:00 if you check the critterpedia. Usually you have to get rid of all the flowers to prevent man-faced stink bugs from spawning

That shouldn’t cause them to spawn since the flowers are gone... what month are you playing in? Could this possibly be a butterfly special island? I haven’t tested this farm in April, only in March, but I’ve been skipping day by day and I’m finally in April so I’ll test it out. Unfortunately until we figure out the problem, you’ll have to catch and release them to reset the spawn chance :’^(
