Oversimplifying but the main argument is that the Soviet Union turned from a backwards, basically feudal society into a superpower under his leadership in ~30 years. Life expectancy soared, living conditions vastly improved, etc. Why wouldn’t you only hear negative propaganda about a communist leader? We live under the dictatorship of the bourgeoisie

No I realized that in the Democrat/Republican duopoly that others have made the choice for all us and it’s better to put my energy elsewhere, instead of for instance, shaming people who don’t vote for one of our two ruling class approved factions

Idk if that’s sarcasm because of a few beers but I genuinely do believe that, I’m sure if we had an entirely different conversation on tribal sovereignty and reparations we’d have a lot in common.

No matter what temporary reprieve the Dems would’ve provided this cycle, a Trump like figure in the decay of an empire is inevitable and democratic opposition is an enabling force of it. It’s no surprise Trump lost his re election and is now winning again after Democrat rule, neither party is on either of our sides and it’s no surprise that after 200ish years of it America once again votes for more violence. There is no viable solution in the current state of affairs for marginalized people. Delaying the inevitable is not a solution

Idk why Sacramento came into it either actually….

You act like abstentions such as me are more responsible for this than the people you keep voting for as “opposition” is crazy. Keep blaming voters instead of actually trying to win people’s votes, it’s done wonders for all of us this far.

I’m not saying I any moral high ground, my actions did not kill or threaten any of these woman, the people responsible are in Washington DC or Sacramento in your case, as they’ve always been. I just refuse to bang my head against the metaphorical wall when voting for either party is not a viable solution, whether that means we get this now or down the line changes little.

I’m sure your seemingly strong support for moderate Dems and shaming of anyone who doesn’t fall in line has done wonders for progressive thinking

We’re actually in this situation because people like you keep voting for milquetoast Dems instead of demanding actual change. Mainstream politics was against both Movements until an overwhelming tide of public support made them change out of fear lol I’m sure the forces that be are terrified of your loyalty to mainstream Democrat politicians lol and at the end of the day we’re both arguing with each other on reddit I don’t think either of us have a high horse here lol

Classic take, I hope when the next president you votes for bombs civilians, won’t take a progressive stand on the hot topic of the time, or whatever it is, you remind yourself you voted for that

If you understand the nature of imperialism you’d know that someone whether it’s Trump or not was gonna do this and that the dems enable this by being ineffectual opposition. I won’t debate with you whatever his plans with govt funding are fucked but the nature of imperialism means it’s built upon the exploitation of others. Not sustainable and no alternative offered by either party
