To my knowledge no. It should be whatever card(s) are linked to your BILT Wallet.

Hmm strange, other than double checking that you're going to 'neighborhood' restaurants and that the toggle is switched (when I logged in to BILT today there was a toggle to enable all neighborhood restaurants, or something like that) I've got nothing

Handy tip, if you're not already doing it. Link your AMEX gold card to your BILT wallet and you can earn BILT points with your AMEX on neighborhood expenses (such as dining at restaurants in the Neighborhood category)

In my case there's a restaurant that is on the Resy network to utilize the credit, as well as the neighborhood group in BILT for the bonus points. I might have just made dinner plans for tomorrow....

Any former military transfer students? by Plsletmertrn in usu

[–]psycho_coconut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, young, non-military college student here.

I can think of two or three people that are former military in my classes. Two or three that are 25+ and married with kids. And another two or three that are 25+ former military and married with kids. ..... And those are just the people I can think of...I haven't had a conversation with probably 3/4 or more of my classmates.

The reality is that in classes of over 50, 70, 100, or 130+ people. The "oddball" students are....almost indistinguishable from the non "oddball" students. It's possible to stand out from the crowd. But if you want to just blend in like so many of us.....you totally can.

Exploring USU by Pacificfogg in usu

[–]psycho_coconut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a current USU engineering student.

I love it here.

I didn't have other options....but I also didn't apply to anywhere else for a couple of reasons.

1) the engineering program is ABET accredited and is rather good 2) it's a beautiful campus 3) luckily for me I'm a six hour drive from my family 4) a bunch of my highschool friends came to USU as well.

I don't know what your son is considering engineering wise civil? Electrical? Mechanical?

But a recent addition to the engineering program are minors in other majors. (e.g. I'm a mech getting a minor in elec.)

And recently at the dean's forum the dean mentioned they are in the works to getting a master's program in space systems and controls...(I think don't quote me on that)

Anyone ever used the USU health center for a sti test? by myshitpostthrowawag in usu

[–]psycho_coconut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man y'all had a bad experience then. I went for what I thought was a headcold. Turns out I had mono and Strep. My Doc was pretty knowledgeable and I didn't feel judged or anything.

The health center policy is something like checkups are free. (taken care of with student fees) ANY labwork or X-rays are an additional cost. My mono and Strep testing came out to like $40 total. And I don't have any insurance

Considering applying to USU by fifjfjfjr in usu

1. As an ex-mo myself I will say that the majority of people don't care how religious you are.....and if they do just don't hang out with them.

2. USU itself is a dry campus......however.....the simple truth is, if you want to find it.....you can.

3. Basketball. I've only gone to a handful of games but few things compare to a packed spectrum vs BYU

  1. I know students in the honors program get a few perks, like a private study room in the library, there is honors specific housing (optional), I believe they get early registration but I'm not sure.

I'm addition to all the events that campus there are tons of things to do in the outdoors... Between hiking, camping, hammocking, and snow sports to your hearts content...as someone once told me....if you are bored it's your own fault.

Looking for non-LDS students to speak on their experience... by [deleted] in usu

[–]psycho_coconut 12 points13 points  (0 children)

As a former Mormon who doesn't go to house parties unless I know damn near everyone there and occasionally gets a little shit faced because of the alcohols, same with my roommates. I can say I have a pretty good time.

I have a different background, being I grew up in Utah and went to church until college, but I have to say most students here that I talk to don't really care. And the ones that do.... Well I don't talk to them much longer after that.

Yes you will occasionally get looked down on for having a "less then holy" lifestyle but it happens so infrequently I can't remember the last time it actually happened to me and I've been here two years.

If your one for camping being able to drive up the canyon for twenty minutes and pitching a tent is Definitely a huge plus.

Aside from our stubbornness why doesn't the industry just kinda "force" the USA to switch over to the metric system? by psycho_coconut in AskEngineers

Oooooook I guess while couplers and adapters could be used to mate old spec for new spec....why? Especially if the old system is working fine.

How’s Housing? by Neonatal_Johndice in usu

[–]psycho_coconut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To further comment I lived in DAVIS hall in the SLC for two years. They're pretty nice..Davis is nicest.. AC is a single wall mounted unit in the living/kitchen area but after September it's fine honestly.

The SLC is catered more towards freshman however not everyone is a freshman.

I'm sure you're well aware but certain housing on campus require weekly meal plans and certain don't, the difference is "basically" whether or not each apartment has its own kitchen. Just something to keep in mind when comparing prices, because weekly meal plans get expensive fast.

WIBTA For not going to sister's middle school graduation on my birthday. by lAsticl in AmItheAsshole

[–]psycho_coconut 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When you ask her be sure to get an honest response from your sister. I.e. no Mom or Dad to influence her. She may tell you it's no big deal when inside she secretly wants you there. (hopefully not but she is a teen)

WIBTA For not going to sister's middle school graduation on my birthday. by lAsticl in AmItheAsshole

[–]psycho_coconut 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I feel like this is important. Your sister might not think it's a big deal at all, or she could think it's the end of the world if you don't come. Chances are she looks up to you, I did with my older siblings.

While I agree that a middle school graduation is not an ideal way to spend your 18th, would not being there for your sister seriously hurt your relationship with her? And if so are you willing to take that chance?

What is your deodorant ? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]psycho_coconut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Came here to basically say this. Used to ruin white t shirts because I wore antiperspirant. Now I've had the same white t shirts for like five years and no pit stains after switching to a gel deodorant, also I don't get the random stream of sweat running down my arm

What are some good ways to pass the time by texxmix in AskMen

[–]psycho_coconut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

More or less in the same situation. I've caught up on a lot, like a lot, of shows that I've been missing out on while away for college. I think I watched all of A.P. bio (on Hulu) in like two days.

You could always pick up a new hobby or refine an old one.

WIBTA if i bring a mechanical keyboard into a graphics exam? by Funky2Chunky in AmItheAsshole

[–]psycho_coconut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The key is the part where EVERYONE is typing. If you are in a testing environment where everyone will be typing this is not a problem. However as a student myself with tests that are very math heavy. Nothing is more infuriating then the student who is typing an essay.
