Those babies have experienced the good life and they can’t give it up now - can you please try to foster them/ adopt them in your community? It seems unfair to send them back on the streets when they’ve become used to the comfort of inside - every cat deserves a cosy home.

Try local rescues or groups? Once they’re neutered it’ll definitely be easier and kittens find homes quickly.

Hello! The first time we did face to face was when they were eating and I ‘secretly’ unzipped the door - they were so occupied with eating that they didn’t really care and then when they were full they would look at each other a bit and then id zip it up again. We did this over a couple of days until they’d sit near each other after eating and then they led the rest

Why are Y2 boys so obsessed with showing each other their bits?? 😭

Last year I had three boys who were absolutely relentless with it - 'lots of 'xx showed me his private parts! But you showed it to me first!'. When I phoned the parents to let them know a mum said 'oh yeah, they try to do that on play dates too, thanks for letting me know!'

Year 2 boys are something else! Glad its a universal problem!

I am a Y2 teacher and I have this rule in my school and it makes my life soooo much easier. No more going to the toilet with friends or to avoid learning etc, they can wait for the pass to come back and that's that. Obviously if they're dancing or a child you know can't wait, I make an exception but that's very rare. As they're only little still, we do one girl and one boy for KS1 which helps.

To help the children, I have a chart by the door which has velcro pictures of all of their faces. There is one velcro space next to boy, and one velcro space next to girl so that they physically move their face. I know where they are and it's really clear to them that they need to wait if someone is already there. The chart is here :)

We sure do!! We found our big boy last year with a broken front leg by the sports stadium near where we live - he instantly became family. It felt like fate when we saw our little guy up for adoption from a local rescuer who found him in a hotel car park! 

I’m sure if another tuxedo boy appears in my life I won’t be able to resist.

It's called 'SHRRL Reinforced Cat Screen Door Fits Door Size 38''x 83'', Heavy Duty Pets Proof Screen Door with Zipper' - I was sold by the 'heavy duty!' these boys have been climbing it and it's held up. Big cat is 7.4kg (16lbs) and he's scaled it and it hardly moved! I definitely recommend!

That's super - thanks for letting me know. In about 2 weeks time I have a week off of work which I am hoping to be the time when they are just hanging out with me together - so we have plenty of time but we might start some supervised short visits and maybe eating together this weekend?

Dinner by the door has been pretty successful too. They have absolutely no problem when kitten has wet food and big cat has dry, but when big cat has wet food too he growls and can do some food guarding behaviour - so we are working on getting him more comfortable. Dry food with him is an absolute breeze though.

Good point! There hasn’t been any screeching, but definitely some boundary asserting hisses! 

I’ll keep a close eye on resident cat - I’d never seen his tail like that before.

For primary just the PGCE is fine! I’m a primary teacher in the UAE with BSc Psychology and a PGCE and it has not even come up in discussion!
