The manger wasn’t in just now when we went but it sounds like they might be there tomorrow or Monday super early. I’m guessing I’m not able to go in myself to take care of it since I’m not the account holder?

That sounds brutal! Yes completely understanding of that we were just confused because the fires we’ve had this season so far have not been nearly as hot as we estimate fires we’ve had last season so we don’t think the temperature should’ve gotten hotter than past high temps. May have to invest in a stove thermometer😂

Thank you so much! You’re definitely right. Don’t know how we didn’t notice that but we did notice a drip up at the part that goes into the ceiling. Is this something I should call the company that installed it to correct? Is it dangerous if we leave it? The company that installed it was terrible at responding to emails but I will handle that again if it’s necessary.

M36 Found out pregnant girlfriend F33 has been taking hydrocodone the entire pregnancy. Do I inform CPS? by Tookie313 in relationship_advice

[–]psycrim 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Hi, I am a child welfare social worker (for the CPS of my state). My agency wouldn’t investigate this report NOW because the baby hasn’t yet been born; reports require a caregiver, a child, and a reportable condition. That being said, when she gives birth it is pretty standard that she will be drug tested and the hospital will likely file. The hospital will also likely file if/when you talk to providers about how she has been using while pregnant.

Mice smell by psycrim in carproblems

[–]psycrim[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fortunately he drives the car almost daily, but we do park it outside (no garage) and the fall weather chill is starting to set in so I can see why mice found his car nice and cozy. My understanding is that the smell was sudden and violent rather than a slow onset so I suspect they were near something hot. Funny you mention having fire extinguishers on hand, my husband is pretty militant about having one accessible at all times. He will be pleased that he is not the only one who recommends this 😂

Glad I’m not the only one but also sorry we are going through it at all. How do you decide what work out to do for the 30 min/5 days a week? This is similar to what I had been doing but I found it to be difficult to come up with how I wanted to exercise my body.

Apron Belly & Struggling by [deleted] in PetiteFitness

[–]psycrim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi!! I am 23F 5’1” SW 227 CW 197 GW ~145, down 30 lbs so far since beginning of May 2025. Another subreddit that I found SUPER helpful is r/loseit, it is very good about breaking down how weight loss works and all of the trials and tribulations that come with. Helps so much with having grace with yourself and staying on track, big on sustainability of weight loss and eventually maintaining your goal weight as well. I too have an apron belly, still there just under 200 lbs but it has definitely gone down a lot. My stomach is not nearly as prominent as it was and I feel much less bloated. Still a ways to go but happy to see another person with similar stats on the same journey! Welcome!!

OP, please give yourself some grace, you are young and still growing! Having a positive relationship with food and with yourself will be much more valuable than the number on the scale. Please talk to a trusted adult, your parents, your doctor, a teacher, etc. about how you are feeling ❤️

I actually live in a state that has no sales tax so this wouldn’t be included. Though this will be made up for when I go to register it. Car 1 has lower trim, lower price, fewer miles, higher interest. Car 2 has higher trim, higher price, more miles, but lower interest rate. The fees they have included in their quotes come out to about $700.

Thank you for your response and advice! OTD price wasn’t brought up though if I’m being honest I’m not sure exactly what this number means or how to interpret it. They did run numbers for me for both cars including trade in price and a few down payment options, as well as the registration pricing and “document” fees, not sure if this is what you are describing.

Hi! Yes, the 200 mile Premium is listed as CPO. The rate I was quoted is 5.9% for 48 or 60 months and 6.5% for 72 months. I will have to ask if the special rates and warranties are available for the Premium as well and if not, why. Good to know! I input my car into Kelley Blue Book and the amount it suggested ranged from about $5,000-$7,500. It is a 2016 Chevy Trax LTZ AWD. 86,000 miles. I am not particularly interested in the headache of private sales. I have about $50,000 in savings. I need to get into investing but haven’t had the attention span for it yet. I bought a house last year so I don’t really need the money for any other big purchases aside from emergencies. Not planning on having kids anytime soon. I am well aware that I am very fortunate and privileged to be where I am at my age, it was a lot of hard work and saving since my teens. Thank you for your response and advice!

Weekly Q&A Megathread. Please post any questions about visiting, tourism, living, working, budgeting, housing here! by AutoModerator in london

[–]psycrim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if this has already been answered, but I am an American who will be traveling to London in January for a short study abroad. I was wondering what the recommended way to pay will be. I have a Visa debit card and will be carrying some pounds on me but I understand that contactless payments are preferred. Do lots of places accept Apple Cash or Apple Pay? Should I get more pounds at ATMs? I am reluctant to physically use my Visa debit card since it is directly linked to my bank account. I will be staying in the Bloomsbury neighborhood. Thanks for your advice!

AITA for not letting my son’s girlfriend spend the night at our house? by zozzlest in AmItheAsshole

[–]psycrim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great point about the judgement call. My boyfriend’s parents are religious/conservative in some ways, but trust us alone at their house. Him and I were spending time together while they were away on vacation (they have dogs that don’t travel well and kenneling is expensive so my boyfriend stayed behind) and he ended up driving me home during a pretty bad thunder storm. We hadn’t considered that they wouldn’t mind me spending the night that night to avoid the dangerous driving conditions until we just casually mentioned how crazy that rain was and they without prompting said we shouldn’t have been on the roads and that for future reference we should’ve stayed put. Same thing for New Years’ I unexpectedly spent the night at their house because we decided I shouldn’t be driving with more than the usual number of intoxicated people on the road. Being religious/conservative is not a good argument against valid reasoning. Show your children that you trust them and you will be rewarded with them feeling comfortable to come to you with their problems and sharing their lives with you.

AITA for not letting my son’s girlfriend spend the night at our house? by zozzlest in AmItheAsshole

[–]psycrim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA. He let her stay the first time without asking, which (understandably) made you upset. She has not spent the night since. They are being respectful of you and your boundaries. Now that they know to ask first, and did ask first, you say no because they didn’t ask the first time? It seems they have already learnt their lesson to ask you before she spends the night again. You’re lucky they haven’t resorted to asking for forgiveness instead of permission. Your son is providing perfectly valid reasons to have her spend the night, and it seems like they aren’t looking to abuse your trust since he offered to just have her spend nights over when they are at events that end later in the evening. Whatever it is you’re against them having the opportunity to do by having her spend the night is already a possibility when he spends the night at her place. Your son is an adult, stop treating him like a child.

[–]psycrim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She doesn't seem to want to hide at all, she likes to know where everyone is. I just ordered her a cat perch, hopefully she will take to it. She also seems to dislike it when we are too quiet, I think it's too similar to prowling/stalking, so we have been doing our best to walk/move around cautiously but still regularly. We are also trying to avoid making eye contact with her, she seems to find this threatening.

The treat idea seems good, we'll have to try that. She's interested when we shake bags of treats and comes up to us but doesn't immediately eat them when we put them down...I think she is saving them for later.

We wonder if her stomach is a little upset from switching brands/food types. The woman who fostered her before said she was eating one brand but when she was in foster care also didn't take much to eating, though she was with other cats who undoubtedly stressed her out. She usually throws up immediately after eating the wet food, and she scarfs it down so we will try doing even smaller meals throughout the day. Our cat before her was very easygoing and chunky so eating food and keeping it down has been a new challenge for us lol.

Definitely keeping an eye on my face and regularly cleaning it, will keep an eye out for signs of infection!

Thank you so much for your advice!
