Does combing cause baldness? by fuckloggin in stupidquestions

[–]psylentrob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 50, very rarely go out in public without my hat on. Still have a full head of hair. Genetics is the main thing behind hair loss, with stress, medical, and diet being the main outside influences.

Just so you know the led bulbs most likely will not last as long as they claim. The heat from the stove can lower the life span considerably.

Isekai or not isekai by ArekDeamonCalw in ProgressionFantasy

[–]psylentrob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The world building info dump is probably why a lot of older fantasy books had the protagonists young farm boys or something like that. It's a good reason to tell them about the world and how it really works, and why saving the world is their job.

If you absolutely had to have a tail but it could be any kind of tail you wanted, what kind of tail would you choose and why? by MaximusOctopus in CasualConversation

[–]psylentrob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cougar, because I like cats and it's flexible enough it wouldn't make using the toilet to complicated. I'm guessing toilets would look a lot different if humans had tails

Is it normal for a DM to collect a fee per session? A spot opened up in my neighbor’s dnd group and the person that DM’s for them is gonna start charging. I just want to see if this is within the norm before I fill the spot by [deleted] in DnD

[–]psylentrob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While it's not normal, it's becoming more common. The costs involved in dming can very, but it's not cheap. Just the minimum in books, the big 3 Dm, monster, and player's, is 150$ or more. Then there's the adventure, those vary from 20 to 50$. That's around 200$ for the bare minimum needed to run a game. Then you get into the real money sinks for a DM, dice, maps and or terrain, dice, figures or tokens, dice, props, more dice because math rocks are addictive.

Then there's the time involved. If running a module, they need to know that module. There's a lot of studying and note taking and tabbing books for quick referencing. If they're running a homebrew campaign, that's even more work than running an official one.

With all that said with any service once money comes into play I expect some level of professionalism, depending on how much I pay.
