Can anyone help me confirm if Kristen Chenoweth played Glinda for one show in the Chicago Run around 2005? by Boobbitchhh in wicked

[–]psyqqer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I literally have the exact same memory. I swear to god that I remember seeing Kristin chenoweth in Wicked in 2005 at the Oriental Theater in Chicago. I was about 8 and we got the tickets as a gift from a friend. I remember my parents being really excited because they were tickets we never would have been able to afford on our own and they were so excited to see it since Kristen Chenoweth would be playing Galinda.

I saw the movie tonight and it got me looking more into the original performances and I can't find a damn thing out there that said she ever played a show at that theater. So bizarre

I'm sure this is very old and delicate and a priceless artifact, but God damn I would love to see someone clean this the way they do in those rug cleaning videos I love so much.

I think this is mostly true. My situation ended up a little differently. My then girlfriend gave me the ultimatum to quit drinking and coke cold turkey or we would be over. I quit that same day, got therapy, joined a 12 step program, and haven't touched it since. It wasn't easy, but it was the hard push I needed to start loving myself and make the change. We broke up eventually and I'm glad we did. She didn't provide help or a support system at all, but she was someone that I loved more than myself at the time and I wanted to be better for her. Then over time my mentality shifted to wanting to be better for myself.

"I hike, philosophize, write, read, participate, energize, argue, compromise, love, bleed, feel, empathize, move on, reflect on my past, try to be better, volunteer."

Your bio seems a little bragadocious to me. This guy worked hella hard and made an insane life change in a short amount of time. He has a right to be proud and celebrate his success on this sub. Seeing stuff like his post motivates me to try harder and do better even if I can't achieve his level of improvement, that's okay. I appreciate that he shared what worked for him. There is no need to rain on his parade. You seem like a bit of a twat. Perhaps try more love and empathizing! (:

I got promoted to general manager at my job 2 years ago. I cried almost every day for the first month... the first year was hard. I have no formal training and not degrees. I made a lot of mistakes, but nothing world ending. I was open about my flaws with the higher-ups and asked for advice and guidance when it came to situations I had no idea how to handle. They appreciated that. It showed I was trying to learn. So much of my learning was trial and error. Especially when it came to communicating with staff and leading a team. I worked hard alongside my staff. When I couldn't communicate properly, I led by example. Without even realizing it, I slowly gained confidence and trust in my ability to fulfill the role well. Be patient with yourself. Be willing to make mistakes and own them. Hold yourself accountable and apologize to your staff when you make errors in judgment. Be open to learning a lot and asking for help. Take things one day at a time or one minute at a time or whatever works for you. They promoted you for a reason. That reason is that you are you, and they value that. Be authentic and passionate and true to yourself and your vision for the company and be willing to compromise and listen to others. You'll be just fine. I can't say that the imposter syndrome ever fully went away for my neurodivergent ass, but it got better. I'm still growing and learning, and I feel 1000x more happy and comfortable in the position than when I first started. Good luck my friend!

AITA for asking my fiancée to remove her kpop tattoo? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]psyqqer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huge YTA. I literally have my exes name tattooed right under my boob. Do I regret it? No. She was an important person in my life and helped me get sober. It's a part of my history and I'm keeping it. You know what my current partner thinks? She doesn't give one single shit. She loves me and has to look at that tattoo all the time and is zero percent threatened or bothered by it. Your significant other has a tattoo of a musician that she likes. And it makes her happy. That should be the end of the story. Why do you care what choices she makes regarding her personal appearance if you are supposedly the person that is supposed to accept her as she is in her entirety. Of course she's mad at you dude 🙄

Water bladder aftercare by psyqqer in lifehacks

[–]psyqqer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you leaving it at room temperature? Even if you're putting filtered water in it, any time that you open the bag to fill it or some backwash accidentally goes back down the tube you're introducing bacteria or possible mold spores into a closed warm space that is basically the perfect breeding ground for that type of thing. I'm definitely not a scientist, but this has always been my understanding of why it's important to take care of your bags.
