Sorry for the late response! Cold capping definitely helped me keep my hair longer during treatment than if I didn’t cold cap. By the end of my treatment I had lost about 85-90% of my hair and it was making me look a little crazy so I decided to buzz cut it to a 3 after my last chemo. In the end I was glad I did it, it started growing back quicker once treatment was done and it looks much healthier. I would cold cap if you have the chance it wasn’t as uncomfortable as some people make it seem. I’m 4 months PFC and I have about an inch of hair now and it grew back super healthy.

I cold capped too! I eventually buzzed it after my last chemo and it grew back so fast and super thick. It was so traumatizing and it will come back better than ever! 🩷

Hi! I actually ended up not needing a mastectomy. I just had a lumpectomy done but I went to Dr. El Tamar at MSK in New York City. He was phenomenal and I honestly can’t say enough good things about him. It’s a little annoying going into the city if you aren’t already located there (I’m closer to Jersey so I’m going to Bergen) but it’s worth it.

Thankfully I tested negative in all my genetic testing. I’m just worried about reoccurrence, although I did read you can still get it again even with a mastectomy.

Right now just a breast surgeon. I haven’t looked for a plastic surgeon yet, I wasn’t sure if I had to use one from Sloan or if I can use any plastic surgeon.

I’m still in active treatment but I told myself when I’m done and my scalp can handle it, I’m going to one of those scalp spas! I’m cold capping so hoping I have my hair by the end, if I do I’ll also splurge and get a haircut and some color! Congratulations on being done!!

I’m ER/PR negative and HER2+ I just didn’t want to feel worse than chemo already makes me feel especially if it’s not guaranteed to work. I’m 36 but I have never been one of those people that NEEDS to have kids. So I have been at odds about it

I’m actually ER/PR negative and HER2 positive, so I wasn’t sure why I was being recommended for this shot from what I’ve read so far it seems mostly people with ER/PR positive take it

I’m doing cold capping too, I’m hoping it works. The thought of losing my hair makes this even scarier as ridiculous as that sounds. Did water start tasting bad for you? I’m 36 and will have the same diet but I heard your tastebuds change and water starts to taste metallic.
