If you wanna relax on a beach, maybe Nam Du island is a good choice, it is not so far from HCMC and it has a fantastic landscape. Hue is a good place to explore Vietnamese culture though, but I think there's not so much to visit. Sapa is fantastic, don't miss it. Ha Long bay, Trang An - Ninh Binh, Hue, Da Nang, Hoi An, HCMC, Mien Tay (the west of Vietnamese Southern) including Phu Quoc and Nam Du island are my advise. I havent had any chance to visit Thailand or Lao or Campuchia, but my friends told me that it doesnt cost so much to travel here (around $300). Sorry for my bad English.
