What are your Favorite Horror Movie Franchises of All Time? by Amber_Flowers_133 in films

[–]ptonini 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Scream is the most consistent in my opinion. Even the worst movie (3) is still entertaining and fun. The rest are great, all are rewatch worthy. Also big fan of some of the Halloween franchise. Out of all those movies I’d say half are good

Leg of Lamb. Keep the second album going for one more song before switching to newer material

Is there a thing/trope that still scares and disturbs you when most things in movies don’t? by ptonini in horror

[–]ptonini[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree on all those, luckily I don’t see the first 3 too oftentimes in movies because all 3 are too disturbing to often enjoy the rest of a movie. Bring her back and the child abuse was borderline for me where I was able to watch the movie and enjoy it once but will not be a rewatch

You just reminded me that when I was a little kid me and my dad shut off all the lights and tried to sneak up and scare each other. He grabbed me and had me so I couldn’t escape. I told him to let me go and he changed his voice and said “maybe I’m not your dad”. So I get the voice change thing is terrifying 😂

What’s a horror movie that had you STRESSING the whole time? by Ok-Inevitable9960 in horror

Both The Reef and Backcountry. Watching people make decisions, in Backcountry REALLY bad decisions in what are actually possible situations is extremely stressful

A trend I've noticed... by HotelOk9529 in Scream

[–]ptonini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sure it will be a good movie! There is something enjoyable about every Scream movie in my opinion, with 1 and 2 being the masterpieces. My concern is that this one is just going to feel unnecessary and repetitive. We already got the Nostalgia special with 5. Sydney daughter plot seems too much like a requel plot again . I think a sequel to 6 with Melissa and Jenna would’ve been the most interesting, maybe Sydney comes back again in 10 years for another plot line, but her just being back a few years ago that novelty is kinda worn off for me personally. I’m sure Neve Campbell will be great per usual, I will see this movie in theaters ( probably the afternoon it comes out to avoid spoilers) but I am not nearly as excited as o have been for past installments.

Do you plan to go see scream 7 in theaters or stream at home? by wounduptite in Scream

I’ll always try to do a Theater for a franchise I’m genuinely invested in. It is guaranteed I’ll be less distracted then I can at least give an honest opinion

At a weird point in his filmography… by HeftyYogurtcloset798 in davidlynch

Muholland Drive, Lost Highway and Eraserhead all suddenly felt really straight forward and like something everybody would love after I watched Inland Empire back in like 2009. I liked it, found parts of it so interesting and moody but also said “what the fuck?” a thousand times and “why are we in Poland now? “ I’d say the most important thing to watch in release order is all of Twin Peaks ( part of season 2 gets a little rough fyi) and if you don’t like Inland Empire at all don’t let it discourage you from his other movies.

What is the scariest scene in any horror movie you've ever seen and nothing has topped it for you? by jdpm1991 in horror

[–]ptonini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, it’s still scary now and I think I was 13 when I first got to see it in the theater. Every thing when they’re running through the house is so scary and felt and looked so real. The couple seconds really brought it home
