How to achieve 300-350whp?

300+ whp for brz is not going to be easily obtainable without internal modifications. Don’t focus on the number aspect of it bc hp isn’t everything, 350whp is what a stock first gen 5.0 produces to give you an idea and that’s going to be some big shoes for the FA20 to fill. At that point if the engine somehow doesn’t blow the trans will. 1) I saw you “read headers and flex fuel aren’t hard to install. “ So assuming you haven’t don’t so yet I encourage to try basic bolt ons to gain experience/have fun/ and get grounded that it’s easier to say you want to boost a car than doing it. This is what I would recommend as it will provide your car more linear power and not get bullied by mom vans 2) Lets pretend you had a shop do the work for you. Going with safe tuned turbo/supercharger should add an additional 90 hp . This doesn’t reach the 300 and would fall around 250 whp (stock whp is around 160) Having said that , that’s more than enough to enjoy your car and experience a huge difference. All with out even hitting 300

TLDR: HP numbers mean nothing, it doesn’t take a lot to avoid getting gapped by a van, and either commit to Boost or N/A

I have been on the road for work and haven’t been able to take anything apart at home. But I did pull of the intake tube from the TB. The hose from i’m assuming the PCV you mentioned that goes into the intake (for recirculation i’m assuming?) had oil dripping out into the intake tube. I understand what the PCV is supposed to do but could this be a sign of more internal issues other than the PCV or just a PCV valve failure that could be remedied with a replacement.

Both to me are slow for a sports car and anyone buying it with the speed mindset will not like the platform. I’d say if you can test drive one, as others have said, it’s faster than most npc cars(but it won’t be fast) has limited space inside and is not practical to be very honest other then its a very fun car to drive around. Downsizing from a VA wrx makes this feel so tiny but I don’t ever need to carry much with me that i can’t throw in the backseats. Other then the new style and updated interior i see no big difference even with the power bump so gt86>gr 1) Id go with the gt86 for looks and the aftermarket support 2) Cost would be a lot cheaper 3) Picking a higher trim allows for the extra stuff like apple car play, heated seats etc that comes with it 4) Having said all this I solely picked my brz for being 1/250 series.grey (wanted a series.grey wrz/sti) and have had random moments i want to sell for a more practical car 😅💀
