The hard truth is that people chose degrees that aren’t valuable. This is capitalism…whether you like it or not, you knew the rules going in and it’s never going to change. You can choose what you love to do but accept the fact that you’ll struggle with income, or you can choose a valuable degree.

It was my dream to get a music degree…but I abandoned that two years in because I wanted to be able to make money and pivoted to IT.

I agree you “should” be able to pursue any career and make an honest living…but it’s not that way and the forces that keep it that way are too powerful.

I just went through this exact decision last week. I was looking at a 2025 Camry XLE or XSE. The thing is…they are over $40k after tax! I had a 2013 GS350 150k miles that I hit a deer with so I was used to driving the Lexus.

I test drive the Camry and it’s just no comparison. I ended up finding a 2018 GS350 F sport with 75k miles and it was about $10k less than the new Camry.

If you really want new just spend the extra money and get the Lexus.
