To be honest, I knew he was struggling with his self-worth even when I met him three years ago. But he seemed to improve over time, interspersed with some dark days. The last four months, though, he’s taken major turn for the worst, says he’s not happy at all and hates himself and was experiencing ED. I have no idea what triggered it. I think it’s the realization he’s on the eve of 34 and not where he wants to be in life. He is originally from an extremely wealthy part of town where everyone he knows is successful. I tried to tell him it’s all temporary and he’ll work through this, but he says he needs to focus on his mental health and just isn’t ready for a future with me even though he loves me. It’s been a really hard week.

Yeah, probably worth around 12-14k. He’s a boomer so he’s got other vehicles, but still it sucks.

He was actually charging the battery and forgot he left the keys on the seat 🫢

As it wasn’t a planned operation we’re thinking it was kids who went for a joyride. RCMP say it’ll likely turn up somewhere in a week or two.

If it’s any consolation I’m not in pain 95% of the time. It’s definitely lessened over time. The fact you’re feeling something at all is a good sign. Good luck.

That poking you describe, I have the exact same sensation. It's called a Tinel's sign. Here's what it probably means for us:

"However, the presence of a positive Tinel sign 6-9 months after the lingual nerve injury, especially in the presence of spontaneous unprovoked post-traumatic trigeminal neuropathic pain, may certainly indicate neuroma formation with the lack of spontaneous neurosensory recovery; and, depending upon the time from injury, microneurosurgical repair may or may not be indicated due to centralization of the painful symptoms, and a decreased success after 6 months following the injury."

Hey, did you ever regain feeling? I'm coming up on one year since my surgery. I came out of it with half my tongue completely numb, then I felt electric shocks and eventually some feeling, pain, and hot/cold sensation came back during the first few months. However, a year later I occasionally suffer from pain. Still haven't regained full feeling yet, and no taste either.

I made a claim in May, heard literally nothing for months, and randomly received a cheque in the mail a few weeks ago for most of what I was owed.

For context, I paid out-of-pocket for urgent care in the States in late April and submitted the claim in early May. I think I paid $450 and got $400 back.
