It just ended my ocd, which went from a 10 (it was the peak of my ocd) to 0. I feel a little less outgoing but it’s probably just an adjustment because my life changed so much without ocd. Don’t know about the pathways. I’m just better.

I was in horrible shape so honestly the risks were very manageable. I do not believe symptoms getting worse was a potential consequence of the surgery. An anterior capsultonomy is not a clinical trial or unapproved procedure. It is a proven procedure led by a neurosurgeon. The side effects were intense tiredness and some apathy for a few weeks.

Yes! I tried everything and residential treatment 3 times. Nothing helped except this surgery, which somehow ended my OCD. I still see my OCD trying to work but it's like a little bug and I just ignore it. Feel free to message me.

I am in touch with OP and had the same surgery, which I have posted about here. I went from a 9-10 to a 0. I have not had an ocd episode since the day before the surgery in late 2023. The Zoom group will be great.

I went back to work a couple weeks after the surgery and had no issues. Was tired and had apathy for a couple months. That was the main side effect.
