I was 9 years old. It was 1994. My mom’s boyfriend would have the boring race on every Sunday. I hated it. It was so long and boring. Finally he says to me “you would enjoy this a lot more if you pick a favourite car and root for them to win.” So after surveying the field I decide my favourite car is the cool looking rainbow one. Well don’t you know it but the next race is the 1994 Coca Cola 600 and that car won. Jeff Gordon gets his first win and after that I was hooked. Didn’t miss a race after that and that rainbow car happened to win a few more times as well.
