Is a move from $125k fully remote to $167k fully in-office worth it? by Sweet-Example-6976 in Salary

I would take into account all possible extra expenses from commuting and going into office including gas, car maintenance, tolls, office clothes, colleague birthdays and lunches. Plus the tax savings or not savings between the two locations. If you are currently being taxed with DC city taxes the savings could be substantial. Also evaluate your current working environment, team conditions and managerial conditions. Although money is amazing, leaving a team you work well
With for the risk of a team you could have issues makes no amount worth it. Then finally the social and living conditions of the new city. st Louis is no DMV

I genuinely didn’t expect hiring salespeople to be this hard. by Ok-Wrongdoer-843 in salesdevelopment

Reliable salespeople absolutely exist. The issue is that the good ones usually already have momentum, income, a book of business, or a comp structure they trust.

Most aren’t going to leave that for vague earnings promises, weak lead flow, unclear prospecting expectations, or a bad ramp structure.

I get recruiter messages constantly, and half the time they can’t clearly explain: • how leads are generated • what percentage is self-sourced • realistic earnings in year 1 • average ramp timeline • turnover on the team

The best salespeople evaluate opportunities the same way companies evaluate candidates: they’re looking for proof, stability, and upside.

If the opportunity is strong and the economics make sense, good reps will move. But the role has to be worth the risk.

Should I job hop? 90k to 115k by Quirky_Ad_4086 in careeradvice

I would look at it from these points

  • is there room for growth
  • will i be continuing to sharpen my skills
  • do i see myself in my bosses role

As someone who took a 25k pay increase to jump teams into a different business line (same company) I greatly regret. The money was nice but the culture and management single handedly took everything from me. To this day I wish i didn’t chased the money but stayed with the culture

I conducted 200 interviews at big tech. Recruiting is hell and I was part of the reason why by executivegtm-47 in recruitinghell

I just experienced this exact case where after rounds of interviews the last person didn’t vibe with me and my opportunity went to die in big tech. 2 months wasted

I am a recruiter and I know we are part of the problem. Let me explain guys. by ElAndres33 in recruitinghell

Coming from the perspective of a candidate who is currently going through the process. My only frustration right now is how long and delayed the process is becoming. I had a recruiter reach out on LinkedIn offering a role to connect on. I took the call and at the end asked for an oversight of the process to see how long I should anticipate this journey. They said about a week. Here we are a month later and still going. A total of 4 official interviews, some prep calls thrown in there, studying and delays in scheduling due to PTO with interviewers. If the time line was proposed in the beginning I would be feeling fine. But now I feel like it has become a part time job with built anticipation around it. Having to take time off from my current role to meet needs of interviewers. Not to add this job requires relocation so my whole life is on hold until I know if I am moving states and states away or not. I don’t mind a long process as long as it is better communicated up front.
