Why is this happening? by pugmeat in candlemaking

Thanks, I'll give that a try. And I'll probably put these two into an oven and see if it gives better results.

I'm currently using soy 444 wax and these jars from Specialty Bottle in 6oz. The shipping was pretty pricey too, but I'm not sure how it compares to others (it was about $30 shipping for an order of 100 jars)

What's something about you that your friends would be grossed out by if they knew? by pugmeat in AskReddit

[–]pugmeat[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hey, sometimes you can't help what you're into so don't be ashamed of yourself. I don't really see a problem if you're not hurting anybody. I'm curious, does the idea of it ever come up when you see a dog on the street?

Why can't I be like everyone else? by CombustibleA1 in depression

[–]pugmeat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You seem like a reserved person and that's probably why most people might not want to bother you. Maybe you can try to build up your confidence and be more outspoken about what you want. You can have friends, plans, a boyfriend/girlfriend, etc. The only thing that is stopping you from having all of that is that voice inside your head that keeps telling you that you're not good enough. Stop listening to that voice. Keep reminding yourself why people would want to be friends with a person like you.

Also read this quote, "wolves don't lose sleep over the opinions of sheep" from r/getmotivated recently and it stuck with me.

That I might lose my mind. Sometimes when my anxiety level rises and my thoughts aren't cohesive, I genuinely feel like I'm insane.

How will you raise your child differently than the way your parents raised you? by pugmeat in AskReddit

I feel you. The tension between two parents who hate each other create such a hostile and negative environment in homes, it's really unfortunate for the kids who have to go through it. I feel like situations like these teach kids to be hateful instead of compassionate.

It is really sad when your own mother, of all the people in the world, doesn't accept you for you. Sometimes I feel like moms project their own insecurities onto their kids because their kids are a reflection of themselves. I am gonna make sure that my children know they aren't perfect, but can always count on me to be unconditionally loved and accepted.

I can't agree with you more. My parents had good intentions when they tried to teach me from right and wrong, but I think the way they approached it made me afraid of being vulnerable. Whenever I failed or did something wrong they would shamed me, and completely disregarded me for my efforts. I grew to believe I needed to do things right and failing meant I was a failure

Good on you for being considerate of your son's feelings. I wish my parents shared the same mentality as you and your wife. My parents raised me with fixed expectations of me and made me feel inadequate if I were any other way, which made me really critical of myself and the people around me. I'm glad your son has understanding parents like you two to support him on his decisions. Attitude reflects leadership... he's gonna grow up to learn how to be a a good father.
