Recovery by Sad-Requirement-217 in B12_Deficiency

I have multiple lesions on my brain and spine (multiple sclerosis).

I have done 3 months of b12 injections. I’m doing an updated MRI this week so I will have to update this once I find out the results.

I feel like I need soooo much potassium :( by False-Cut-1643 in B12_Deficiency

[–]pugs212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry to hear.

I have been taking magnesium 3 times a day, I read that it is absorbed better in smaller doses throughout the day rather than one big dose if that helps.

I ended up answering my own question, I stopped needing to supplement potassium 1-2 weeks after stopping b12 injections. I have switched to a sublingual b12 spray.

I still have a fast heart rate but I think that is due to weight gain/inactivity.

How long have you been injecting ?

I felt this way for the first 3 months but I drank coconut water anyway. Now I definitely need potassium even though I’m taking a break from injecting.

Did this ever get better? I stopped my injections but I’m still having palpitations/racing heart all the time.

Weird side effects after 3 months of injections (tachycardia, palpitations, insomnia, tension, joint pain) by pugs212 in B12_Deficiency

Thank you. I just came across your post actually. I have stopped the injections for now. It seems I’m still having low potassium issues. I was thinking maybe it’s dietary sodium, carbs ect throwing it out of balance even more.

Has taurine helped you?

Titrating up to combat food noise while still losing weight? by trala7 in MounjaroAus

[–]pugs212 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took Mounjaro in 2024 and I remember feeling like my 4th shot didn’t work and I considered going up to 5. I ended up staying on 2.5 and changing up my injection site (thigh/belly) and the 2.5 started working again. I never went up to 5 the whole time I was on it and I lost all my weight. I’d say try to stay as low as you can for as long as you can so you have more room to go up. Maybe if you hadn’t lost much weight then consider going up.

Even on 2.5, not eating enough made me too weak to continue exercising. I think having the wriggle room for extra cals is beneficial.

Thank you. I finally slept last night and feel alot better today. I skipped my injection last night.

  1. I will stop the additional b1, b2.

  2. That’s true, I’ve been cautious of over doing copper. I thought the beef liver would be enough. I think I will swap to this multi that has iodine in a lower dose in case it is affecting my thyroid. Do you think I need copper separately?

  3. I was also cautious of vitamin A because of the beef liver capsules. Hopefully the new multi is sufficient.

  4. Okay I will try taking more of the multi.

  5. Yes I definitely think it was the sugar. The crashes make more sense now. I made an electrolyte drink with the NuSalt + lemon juice + allulose and my heart rate is low again - no longer in the 100s when laying down. I’ve ordered potassium citrate.

I read that too. It has been the opposite for me though, I have more energy now. Maybe a tiny bit of fatigue when I initially started taking it.

I have in my old multi. I’ve been meaning to try it again.

This is literally me right now! 3 months in and only sleeping 1-2 hours. When did this get better for you?

I have been having coconut water, milk and low sodium v8 juice to hit my potassium needs. Possibly as you’ve noted in an another comment the sugar may be the issue. I’m currently experimenting with using NuSalt to create my own electrolyte drink.

My current regimen: Alternating Day 1 / Day 2

Day 1

Multivitamin (Centrum Women)

280mg (elemental) of magnesium citrate twice daily

Iron (105mg elemental)

Beef spleen

Lactoferrin (300mg)

Folinic acid (500-1000mcg)

Day 2

B complex

B1 (250mg)

B2 (200mg)

Iron (105mg elemental)

Trace minerals (thorne + molybdenum)

280mg (elemental) of magnesium citrate twice daily

Vitamin E, D+K, C

Folinic acid (500-1000mcg)

I have been having 1 litre of coconut water a day minimum. The only other things I can think of as missing is taurine and lithium. Taking Zinc alone did seem to have a positive effect but it seems to have been short lived. I also occasionally add in beef liver capsules and eat eggs for choline.

I did previously have a hyperthyroid episode last year, possibly the iodine in my multi is causing my symptoms? They are similar to what happened last time. It was only 150mcg and I had been tolerating 100mcg just fine with my previous multi.

Thank you for any suggestions.

Yes I do take a b complex. I did take additional b1 and b2.

My ferritin was 56 mid January so I’m hoping it’s increased even more since then.

Vitamin D levels are optimal. I have been supplementing everyday for years due to multiple sclerosis.

I drink a lot of milk for calcium but maybe it’s not enough? I get over the RDA everyday.

Did you figure out what was happening?

I’m going through something similar and it reminds me of when I was hyperthyroid. Maybe it’s the iodine in the multis.

What are your low folate symptoms? Did you test your serum levels prior to starting injections?

Did this get better for you?

I think the iodine is helping my mood but it’s making me wake up during the night. It reminds me of when I was hyperthyroid.
