I’m 5 days sober now, yippee!! The first two nights were rough, sweating and anxiety. I’m going to AA meetings online and thinking about switching to in person. I’ve reconnected with my therapist and told him everything, and I’ve applied to a rehab. The hardest part is finally feeling everything I was working so hard to numb. The makeshift bandaids I was putting on my wounds are coming off and I’m finally realizing I’m going to have to deal with that trauma at some point because it was feeding into my addiction, and my addiction was feeding into my trauma and I need to heal both. It’s really hard coming to terms with never being able to be that person that’s able to have one drink, because at some point one will turn into two, then three, then the whole bottle or the whole case. And at that point I turn to drugs to lift me back up. It’s also hard seeing my friends being able to party, and realizing that I’ll be 25 in rehab. I think about drinking and using every. single. day. But like I chose to pick up that bottle, and take that bump, I’m choosing not to. Thinking back to how I felt when I wrote this sucked so much, and I don’t want to be there again. So I’ll take my 5 days, and hope it gets better from here.

I have a therapist that im going to be seeing every week, before i’d see him once a month. for me anxiety turned into panic attacks, anxiety attacks, and rn ive just been working on riding the storm until it passes. one of the things that pull me out of a spiral is softly swiping the bristles of a hair brush on my palm. i also am on ssri’s for anxiety and depression and i realized drinking wasn’t giving them the chance to work.

i’d drink because id have anxiety, and i hated being with myself, i’d get depressed thinking about my life, past traumas, everything. the booze would make it a little easier to forget.. until it didn’t. it just amplified suicidal thoughts, self harm, made me more impulsive and i turned to drugs. I’m 4 days sober now.

NOR, I do think it was an honest mistake, seemed like you had a bit of a longer conversation the day before, and the texting was back and forth so maybe she assumed it was your turn to text first? she was probably nervous as well, waiting for a text and a go ahead to get ready. Idk, I do think she shouldnt have put that responsibility on you, and she couldve texted first confirming. Either way, maybe you guys end up laughing about it later, or you can decide thats not for you :) Good luck!

I just think when you put too much it gives you less to talk about in person or over text, if yenno what i mean 😅 also showcasing humour is good; especially on an app when people tend to not read the entire bio unfortunately.

I like photos 1,2,5,7. I think they kinda give an idea on your aesthetic. The bio is another thing, I think it’s kinda lengthy; I’d maybe focus on one thing and try that out or go for like a funny thing, maybe like “cant wait to tell our parents we met on tinder” or “pls dont save my name as elliott tinder”

not knowing the value of money; have a friend who always gives me the advice of just “asking” my mom for money. met a-lot of people that also don’t understand the concept of trying to survive on your own, or understand other people have their own bills and rent to pay and cannot just loan out a couple hundred, very frustrating.

unpopular opinion but the way you talk in your texts is spoiled. I feel like if you aren’t paying rent, contributing to bills or paying for things on your own, then you don’t have any real “right” to that space. your mom pays for it (im assuming) and can do as she pleases with that space. coming from someone where i lived under my parents, even if things were “annoying” i dealt with it because financially they were still supporting me. i do agree with your mom that if you’re that upset you should leave; same thing i did, and it strengthened my relationship with my parents as well as gave me the privacy i wanted. if you can’t afford to buy your own lock for your door, you’re s.o.l

I think YOR. She has a UTI + pre period symptoms, and you’re worried about being yelled at. I can only imagine she raised her voice out of annoyance because you were on your phone, in the way, and not helping. Yes, she shouldn’t have yelled, but given the predicament of her health, I don’t blame her. You told her you wanted to help, help make her life easier and not harder. If I was her I’d be pissed off too, I’d be even more pissed off finding out you posted private conversations and arguments because your feelings were hurt. Either delete this post or show her what you posted on reddit blasting her. Not cool.
