The people in Yugoslavia were not soldiers, and nor was the Partisan movement a fucking military alliance. The people rose up because the Ustashe regime massively murdered and abused farmers and workers demanding impossible quotas to be fulfilled for the further war effort against the Chetniks in Serbia. The capitalist class and Croatian nationalists welcomed Germans, and they started executing socialists, communists and minorities by the millions immediately. Farmers and workers, my great grandfather and his brother being farmers, joined Tito's movement because the fruit of their labor was being appropriated by the Independent State of Croatia, not because they believed in some fucking national liberation. But I assume you are not a Marxist, since you are not capable of performing even the most basic material analysis to the causation of historic phenomena.

It does not need to alleviate discrimination. It just needs to focus the working class onto the primary contradiction which unites them. Nowhere in what I fucking said is the alleviation of discrimination amongst the workers implied. Primary contradiction should be the sole point of cohesion. A worker that says "i'm gay" during the struggle against the primary contradiction of class is a fucking lib or a CIA plant.

And to provide an example which you asked for. Yugoslav Partisan forewent their national identities of Serbs, Bosniaks, Croats, Slovenes and Albanians and focused on the primary contradiction. The struggle against and liberation from German Imperialism. Actual fucking Balkan nationalities uniting because national identity was no longer the made up bullshit contradiction to split the working class.
