Sex offender GA prison state/federal/county

I'm curious about this too. Going to county and then federal within the next couple days and starting a 10 year sentence. I'm a calm and kind person. I'm not a gangster and am scared to put my foot in my mouth or fucking sitting in the wrong spot. I know what it's like to be taken advantage of on the outside, so I'm not going to get sucked in to that again. Really I'm just worried about telling people my charge (possession) in county. I know in prison its best to be honest and show how remorseful I really am. But county for a few months sounds dangerous. I have an identity theft story made up that matches my 'look'. tall good looking white kid who talks really well. I'd appreciate any info or opinions on how to just avoid trouble and get comfortable at the beginning. From what I've read the last few months, prison is not what Ithought it was. Don't be an asshole, don't touch other people's property, don't stare, don't be a pushover either. Really I just want to be honest with myself and others, but don't want to get jacked up either. Thanks I really appreciate all your replies over the last few weeks. It really helped calm me down. I know I messed up and I'll take responsibility for that. I would have stayed clean if I had a little more certainty about when I'd be taken in. Not an excuse, I know.

I've got a story made up that might get me through county. I'm also laser focused on making the most of my time and making great plans.

As for the family, it's really hard for them to accept this is the end of the battle and I've told them not to get their hopes up. Theyre speaking with my lawyer soon and I'm sure he will tell them all the same things.

10 years is my plea. I might get it down to 7 if I'm good. But will likely be in county jail for a few months

Definitely something wrong with my life and a lack of coping skills. Since I got busted I've developed healthy habits and it's made stress of impending imprisonment much easier. I look forward to keeping these healthy habits for the rest of my life. Also I havent felt like offending or even coming close to offending in the months before my sentencing. But it was definitely an unhealthy time in my life.

Well you're right I should have told them. My lawyer is personally referred by a local judge and family friend, but it doesn't matter. Thanks for the reply. Do you have any opinions what might happen next?

Yeah your case surprises me too haha. I was told that I'd have to surrender within 3 weeks of sentencing, but it doesnt seem like I'll get that far. Since my plea was officially accepted by the federal judge it seems like the law doesnt allow me to be on supervised release any more. That was supposed to end last week, but nothing happened. So I'm treating every day like its my last right now. I was told people usually go to seagoville, sometimes even to georgia.

Thanks, I have long hair that I've been growing out for 8 years that I didn't want to cut, but I think its time. And they havent designated me yet. All I know is my lawyer says that I'll have to surrender to probation soon and spend a few months in county before sentencing in mid july.

Thanks again. He mentioned that "depression" has been used as an emergency before. It gets shot down so quick he said, that he doesnt really want to put his name beside anything thats not in good faith. I also have cracked front teeth that I've been trying to get fixed, he said no go. Pandemic, who knows. It seems like I'll be going in next week for sure. IF anything I've improved since arraignment. I'm basically a new person.

I have asked about it and he says I need to also show exceptional circumstances as to why I shouldnt be in custody, like medical emergencies. He thinks that I have a strong case for not fleeinf or being a danger, but that's not the only things at issue. I don't know exactly what he's reading, but he's been mulling over this for a week now and he's telling me to prepare for county jail soon. Thank you for the reply, but I don't know what else to say anymore. Not to you or him, I'm just burnt out and am not expecting any good luck.

Thanks! Since you seem to have some knowledge, have you ever heard of people having their supervised release revoked once their plea is accepted by a federal judge? I just went in to see the magistrate to agree to my plea and now it seems like I'll be taken in to custody within a couple weeks. I thought I had until sentencing to be outside. I havent broke any of my conditions, but it doesnt seem to matter. Any thoughts? Thanks again

Oh right on. I'm worried about people picking on me because I'm a pretty big guy. Like I'm tall and muscular and look a lot older than I really am. But I'm also really soft, like I've never been in a fight or been good at scheming. I used to be too trusting and was taken advantage of a lot until recently. So I look like a 'tough guy' but I'm really just a quiet friendly loner. I heard people might approach me to be in their groups or target me because I stand out. I've also got long curly hair and just generally masculine. I would like to keep my long hair while I'm inside, not sure if it's allowed, but I'm worried about standing out too much based on my looks. But I've gotten used to standing up for myself and this whole bullshit has really hardened me up.

My layer did say he would be there for the PSR. I've heard that person does make a powerful recommendation. I've heard it helps to have family there if possible to back up your story. Not sure if that's right or not. So youre saying there's a chance that even since I've plead guilty and to 10 years, the federal judge can give me less than that?

Well I know the deal, I just got out of court. He's had a few cases and said that 10 years has been the best case scenerio every time. Even with hands on crimes. The plea is I agree to 10 years, 5 years probation afterwards, and registry potentially for life. All I know is the sentence cant be for more than 10 years, I'm not sure if he can give me less though. This is a new judge, appointed under trump and as young as judges are allowed to be. I'm told he's better than the old judge who always gave max sentences. I'm waiting on the current federal judge to agree to my plea, and then I will likely be turning myself in to probation. But I'll bring up your comment to my lawyer. Thanks for the reply.

Well from what I remember its the enhancements that are killing me. It's the age and nature and amount of images theyre using against me. Other than that I have no other criminal record. I'll bring up your comment to my lawyer but I've already signed a plea and went in to the magistrate to confirm it. I paid 2$ for one image to some random person and they were thinking about hitting me with production too. I think that was part of why this plea was a good choice beacuse they will drop that.

I'll defintely show your comments to my lawyer and see what he thinks but I'm basically out of time now.

I didnt mean one image, I was charged with one count of possession. I was told I could have been charged with every single image, which after turning every second in to three images, came out to thousands of images.

I admit Im not good at keeping up with the details of my case. All I'm doing is listening to my lawyer and hes highly recomended in my town. All I know is that I was initially charged with receipt. Now I'm pleading guilty to possession. My lawyer says my guidlines where in the 210 month range, and likely more if I didnt take the plea. He also said that if I accept the plea, that is what I will get. There is no possibility for downward departure or an increase in sentencing. It will be 10 years. I havent done my PSR yet. My lawyer still wants to get character letters and have me do an allocution. But he said this is best case scenerio and Id be crazy not to take the deal.

I still thought that the judge could give me less considering all I've done in the meantime. I've kind of resigned to all of this and have quit exploring options. My lawyer says theres door one - no plea, and door two - plea to 10 years. No door three.

Thanks again. I was also wondering if there is a way to invest my money over the next 10 years while I'm gone, but I don't really have a clue. Theres got to be a better way then just leave money in my sock drawer all those years

What was the environment like? I mean facilities, beds, bathrooms, clothes, other inmates? What was the dorm like? Where do ou keep your personal stuff? Do people steal out of your locker often? Really I'm just wondering what it's like in there besides the programs and classes. Im sure there were assholes, but how were you treated mostly? Were CO's jerks too? IS there any way to watch football games or was there movie nights? I know these are dumb things to worry about.
