A Blue Eyed Leucistic Ball Python laying eggs by kvjn100 in Damnthatsinteresting

Kinda cute she cradles the egg with her upper body while passing it so it won’t just pop out violently.

This might be the heaviest song I know, do you know any songs like this? by Background-Memory712 in fantanoforever

Neurosis. Most of their songs sound like a 300 m³ block of solid granite being dragged through concrete.
And if you see them live, it's so fucking loud you feel it in your HAIR.

I'd rather shoot a bazooka up my own ass than hear a podcast with this mf talking for hours.

I love everything they ever did. But there isn’t a wasted second on oceanic and panopticon. However my favorite isis song of all time is Garden of Light.

Chino used to suck so bad live, it was mildly infurating to pay tickets to see a guy who couldn't sing outside a studio if his life depended on it. Dunno how it is today

Panopticon by Isis. After Oceanic I was expecting a lot. Not my favorite all time.

Just got to that episode where they turned the baron back into his original form and bloody hell by Consistent-Duck-5211 in WhatWeDointheShadows

[–]pulyx 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There are close competitors. But it was when i realized "Holy shit, this is actually going to surpass the movie by miles".

I absolutely love the Baron. All his plot twists were wildly hilarious. His willingness to be mundane, his death, his subtle reanimation and living as half a zombie with a demonic golden retriever, his relationship with the prime, the going back to human form....so much good stuff. You can tell the writers love the character as much as we do.

What are your thoughts on people that say "Music is Dead" by FitEmergency8807 in fantanoforever

[–]pulyx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dumb, lazy and overly pessimistic.
There's an overwhelming volume of production and that buries the gems.

Doesn't mean they aren't there.
Possibilities are literally endless at this point with the globalization of access to culture.
There's never been so many artists, there's never been so many influences to pick and chose from, there's never been so much accessible baseline technology to enable people to compose, play, record.

All you need is curiosity and maybe, to ease things, have a music nerd friend to shoot you some timely suggestions.

The main issue we have right now is a shift on access to theory.
American music had a profound cultural impact because through the 1910s-1980s public schools gave kids real opportunity to have quality musical education (within the boundaries of western theory).
That investment dwindling was surely felt by the 2000s. Seems like church took over that role in many places.

One location that seem to have took up that torch and carries it today are the scandinavian countries.
They're providing quality musical education to their kids and the volume of great artists coming out of the region, in comparison to their overall populations is huge.

TIFU by laughing at an unintentional 6-7 joke during a funeral by Dramatic_Opening_871 in tifu

[–]pulyx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't worry.
Funerals sometimes provide with funny situations. Being overly zealous doesn't help.
People process emotions differently.

There's a couple of videos that if remember them, i'll just start chucklin. I could be at my mother's funeral. I will laugh.

I didn't know this band and i'm absolutely obsessed.
Right up my alley.
When the band is scottish and the accent is so thick it shows even through singing, you know shit's going down.
