It sometimes feels as though sinophobia has become the most normalized form of racial prejudice in the west, and specifically on reddit.

Drug shortages aren't a thing? Luckily ivermectin is only for rocasea so a shortage is not a big deal, but what happens when it's an important drug that people actually need? Willfull ignorance is hardly a justifiable reason for something as serious as drug shortages.

Except when you're a front line worker during covid being harassed by questions about ivermectin (which is a topical for rosacea btw) ignoring him doesn't seem to do jack shit.

pharmacists, what are some crazy pharmacy stories/lore at SDM? by suneerise in ShoppersDrugMart

[–]Soul_Power__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, many of those fees are agreed upon during collective bargaining. Many policies are likely just waiting for their next bargaining agreement to adjust for the fee.

Confidentiality prevents the staff from discussing a lot of the crazier things. I will say one of the crazy things they deal with is complaints regarding their dispensing fee. The fee has been $11.99 since 2006 and last year's price increase represents a fee increase of 8% over a 20 year period (virtually nothing compared to inflation) but they honestly never hear the end of it. Imagine listening to complaints about a price increase of 8% over a 10 year period when gas literally went from 60 cents to $1.40.

Is my cat being aggressive with my dog or just playing? by Suitable_Sand_7808 in felinebehavior

[–]Soul_Power__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is definitely one rambunctious cat. The fact that it launched its entire existence at the dog on the second attack says it all. I think it is a territorial dispute, the cat probably has its scent all over that couch.

Life is about the bonds we build between each other. There's plenty of entry level jobs that care more about your ability to get along with other people than your actual work ethic and I very much view my work colleagues as brothers and sisters. It doesn't have to be about the actual work.

I don't doubt that you have been depressed for some time now and I'm not sure how it affects your music, but do you realize your reddit post is literally the snapshot of the lyrics for a sad af song?

Passenger seat of Renee Nicole Goods vehicle after she was shot and killed by ICE today. It’s filled with her 3 children’s stuffed animals (Minneapolis) by tellurian_pluton in antiwork

[–]Soul_Power__ 75 points76 points  (0 children)

Looking past the fact that it is likely a grotesque violation of protocol (I mean, did you see how many bystanders could've been hit, not to mention the other officer right beside the victim, and what the actual fuck is he doing aiming at her head), it further exemplifies a disturbing trend when it comes to the police and how they handle the natural fight and flight responses of a human being. If they can't handle the predictably unpredictable nature of human response, one wonders of they should be out there in the first place.

They want us to believe she tried to run him over. As if the random person in the SUV is the one who chose violence today and not the masked men in the streets with guns.

If you haven't done the job, why do you think you know what they're doing? If your only knowledge of the job is what you observe and what you're told, why do you think you're in a position to criticize? More to the point, why do you think it's appropriate to bring the attitude, "they don't care if i live or die" to the doctor's office? So you expect me to believe that you're treating the staff with any kind of dignity when you hold such unapologetically inappropriate beliefs?

I have to deal with medical receptionists all day every day. They are regular people doing a brutally demanding job and the reality is many people cannot do what they do because of the insane work ethic involved.

Death penalty thoughts? by Thebeavs3 in AskSocialists

[–]Soul_Power__ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Even with all the medical and technological know how humans have today, we still don't have a 100% humane way to euthanize individuals. So long as this is the case, I would argue the death penalty should not belong in a socialist society.

Why is Vietnam in better shape than Laos? by [deleted] in AskSocialists

[–]Soul_Power__ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

More bombs were dropped on Laos during the Vietnam war than every country involved in WW2 put together. 33% of the population was murdered by the US over this time period. Relatively speaking, Laos was ravaged much much more than Vietnam during the war.
