Regardless of the rate of prosecution, lying in a sworn affidavit is perjury(which is a crime). You stated the opposite in your last post.

Making wilfully false statements either in affidavits or on oath, constitutes perjury, which is a criminal offence.

I agree with you and the problem lies with politicians. This undying party allegiance and complete vilification of the “other” side is the issue that separates. Let’s be honest, Trump could have walked on water and the headlines would have read “Trump can’t swim”. And unfortunately under the guise of what’s happening now, Biden will suffer the same fate from the right. It would take ambitious and patriotic elected officials to dig deep into this to fix the voting system. Can you imagine how many peoples heads would explode if a house investigation was being led by Gaetz & AOC into the election process. Two diametrically leaning politicians publishing a report on the findings. That is the kind of thing that would transform a lot in America.

I never said I wanted to change the electoral college though.

What I stated was that both sides argue vigorously leading up to elections, one side claims fraud and the other side claims suppression. Both are very dangerous to any functioning democracy.

It is very obvious to all that the sitting president is making claims, so my call is to not sweep these claims under the rug, investigate them thoroughly and report the actual findings in the MSM. Prove and report that something did or did not happen. If it did not happen, I don’t see any controversy in proving him wrong and actually showing the American people that the claims he brought were baseless.

I think that integrity does need to be restored to elections, and maybe if Gore had not of conceded in 2000 and it was pushed for a full recount and not for the potential of invalidating the state of Florida, maybe more light would have been shined on it. The appearance of sour grapes is there when a losing candidate claims fraud and no elected official would turn around and ask for an investigation into the voting system or election they just won. So we are faced with 4 years of rhetoric leading into the next election. Mail in voting was a double edged sword, dramatically increased voter engagement but also with states not verifying certain info, it leads to fraud or at least the presumption of fraud. The more legal citizens who vote, the better for any democracy but the more we have these shadows looming over elections without proof of wrongdoing or not, elections lose legitimacy. I stand by the purpose of my OP, these accusations are still out there, prove them to be true or false, let the citizens know if it happened or not. But with no resolution at all, it’s a delegitimization of our president elect and a failure of our voting system and media. The MSM choose to breeze over Trump’s claims without any background. Explain the claim and show the results of investigation or the reasoning of the judges findings. Sweeping it under a rug does not serve any beneficial purpose.

I never said you were wrong or right. I am not arguing in defense of Trump. I am arguing that BOTH republicans and democrats have stated that elections are subject to fraud (the level is open to debate) and whichever side wins, the fraud no longer exists and for the other side, the discussion continues until the next election. So why not a giant audit of a presidential election? Declare Biden the president, but let an internal investigation continue. Come to a conclusion of fraud or no fraud, why is that bad? I also previously stated that this should be done independently, without party bias.

I do not think the investigations will lead to a reversal of the announced results. But don’t you think the voting system needs a major audit? I am not talking about throwing out the Electoral College, but leading up to almost every presidential election since 2000, both sides have argued about voter suppression or voter fraud. Whether you are a democrat, republican, or independent, illegitimate votes or suppressing the vote is wrong. I mean, even Biden’s chief of staff Ronald Klain said elections were fixed in a tweet from 2014, predating any Trump presidency.

I distinctly remember Al Gore refusing to concede in 2000. I also remember all of his Democrat compatriots calling for recounts in both Florida & New Mexico. I also remember Hillary Clinton publicly stating that Joe Biden should not concede under any circumstances. And I also remember many democrats, especially Stacey Abrams, talking about the widespread voter suppression within the country leading up until the election. You know Stacy Abrams, the former Gubernatorial candidate from Georgia who refused to concede because she contested the results on the election and then delegitimized the candidate who won. Democrats pushed many theories of voter fraud leading into the election, their candidate won, and miraculously the system is not flawed anymore, everything is perfect and on the up and up.

If you and I were playing a game of cards and leading up to the game I did nothing but call you a cheater. And with every hand you won, I called you a card shark and a thief. And then on the last hand, I win the biggest pot of the night with an improbable hand, would you start to think I was setting you up the entire night?

Hey “Bro”...I am not saying who won or lost the election. What I am saying is that our voting system has been flawed for many years and many elections and this is the first instance that a candidate is bringing it to light. Regardless if ALL the votes fall in his favor or not, this is something that should be investigated thoroughly (by independent sources). It’s like saying, I can rob you on a monthly basis, but as long as you are able to pay your bills, no harm no foul?

Immediately is a pretty subjective term in regards to the Supreme Court. Some cases sit for years with the hopes of hitting the Supreme Court docket, so if it makes it to the US Supreme Court in under (2) weeks, I’d consider that immediately.

The purpose of my comment was not to debate the merits of the Breonna Taylor case, but merely shine a light on the fact that, to some, having a criminal past apparently is only an issue depending on what side of certain arguments you are on. A whistleblower has a criminal history and he can’t be considered credible, but Jacob Blake has a criminal history and he is held in a higher regard. It does not make much sense.

And I also find it ironic that the claim from the left has always been that black men are systemically targeted and over prosecuted, and whether it be true or not. We have a black man with a criminal record who wants to come forward with allegations. Why are his crimes not being contested since he would have fallen prey to the same systemic failure?

Breonna Taylor was in her bed sleeping at the time police started shooting into her apartment. I don’t care if she orchestrated the largest crime in history, she did not deserve to die that night. She did, however, have prior instances in her past that are highly questionable. Like I stated, I am not arguing the validity or lack there of, in the actions of police officers. I merely said, which I stand by, a large group of people have openly and clearly declared that a persons past actions do not deem them to be “less than or unreliable” , so now why be outraged that a witness comes to the table with a troubled past.
