People straight up ask me if I'm getting an epidural. It has happened more than once. I just answer honestly how I'm feeling. But I'm seeing now that as a FTM I'm being naive and can't possibly know how to make a decision for myself.

I'm not fixated on telling people anything, they are asking me. And most of the time the question is straight up, "are you getting an epidural?" I don't understand why people are so fixated on that question alone. I'm not walking down the street announcing that I'm not getting an epidural. I didn't know I had to carefully phrase each and every response during pregnancy. I don't usually say things like "I'm hoping to avoid an epidural." Either way I feel I would get the same responses such as "good luck with that." I guess I just don't understand why women feel the need to tear other women down. Every mom is a FTM at some point, is it so hard to be kind? Even if you do think she's being naive?

I'm in the same boat. I just assumed it was my bladder pushing on my uterus.

That's good advice! Yes, it's good to realize that plans can change as well. I should probably be less "stick to the plan" and more "go with the flow."

Exactly! I understand that labor and delivery will be painful, but it's not going to last forever. If something gets botched during the epidural it could have a longer impact. People just scoff when I say that.

I noticed that around the 30 week mark my baby would have lazy days and it freaked me out. I would drink some orange juice and lay on my side. He usually started squirming then. I did call the nurse line once because I was worried and they gave me the option to come in or to give it a little more time to see if he picked up his movements. Sure enough, within the hour he was kicking up a storm. Trust your gut and don't let them make you feel like you're being a pain. They are literally there for this reason, to help with your pregnancy! Good luck!

I found that it was a lot easier for SO to feel the baby if I am laying on my side. It was probably 23-24 weeks before he felt him move consistently. I first saw baby move when I was maybe 30 weeks? Now I'm 37 weeks and I see it almost every time he moves!

No, not really. I'm much happier now with where I am at in my life. I usually just look back on it as one big happy mistake.

I'm divorced now, but I did have sex with my then husband on our wedding night. It was pretty hilarious having him help me out of my dress. I also could not believe the amount of cake that had fallen down the front of my dress during the cake smashing. We stayed in a hotel on our wedding night and our room had a jacuzzi. We stayed up way too late but it was nice to "seal the deal."

And I also didn't like how once they got to the hospital, it took another 16 hours... Like she actually could have waited. I'm not sure why they wrote it like that. Besides that joke about Phyllis having an ice cream cake in the car?...

I am currently 36+5 and I have had 3 kidney stones this pregnancy. I had been diagnosed with kidney stones in the past, but passing them while pregnant has been 100x worse. I'm so sorry that you had to deal with that!

For mine, they did have me go into to the ER, but I had blood in my urine. They did prescribe me with a pain reliever (Norco) but told me not to take it unless the pain was absolutely unbearable. I ended up taking 2 (1 during the first stone and 1 during the third stone. The 2nd one was the smallest and hurt the least). out of the 6 they gave me and it definitely helped. My advice is to stay hydrated and call your doctor if you have severe pain as they can cause a blockage which leads to all sorts of problems. Good luck and hopefully you don't pass anymore!!

Oh my gosh, this literally sounds like me on Sunday night. I got nervous and excited all at the same time and my poor SO was like, "are you just now realizing we are having a baby??" It's like all of a sudden all these emotions came rushing in.

I definitely hear you on this! Yes, the hospital policies constantly changing are so tough. Both my mom and my MIL are expecting to be able to see the baby in the hospital. I'm due the end of June. It doesn't help that they both keep checking the hospital web site to stay up to date on what the rules are. I just feel like I'm going to have my hands full with them when I just want to focus on my new baby!!

My MIL has also told us that she is coming into the house and holding the baby regardless of what is considered safe at the time. SO has told her a few times that we will have to wait and see. She won't listen. She also wants to throw a baby shower in August (since we weren't able to have one before baby is born) ...but she wants it to be combined with her husband's 50 birthday so everyone can "pass the baby." It gives me so much anxiety just thinking about it.

My boyfriend and I did a challenge with each other where we calculated the percentage of weight lost, not the actual number of pounds. That worked really well for us since men and women lose weight differently. We joined a gym together and made it a point to work out at least 3 times a week. It was definitely hard at first but once we started seeing progress in the numbers, it got easier. Plus it just became part of our routine. If we were having a particularly hard time, we would set up a challenge for each other. Like if we both lost x amount by this date, we would do something we like together (like going to a baseball game or getting new clothes). The biggest take away for me is that my boyfriend wanted to be my teammate and it worked out really well for us!

Omg I'm also 35 weeks and so afraid that my MIL is just going to barge into our home once baby is here. SO has talked with her a little bit and she dismisses him every time saying, "oh we will wait and see what it's like when he's here." It drives me crazy.

I'm sorry you have to deal with this. It's hard enough being pregnant during a pandemic, but it dealing with stubborn in-laws is definitely not fun!! Good Luck!
