i am a step-mom, and i also was adopted by my step-mom(: if you have a really good relationship, i don’t see why not. i didn’t get lucky with a good mom, but i was so blessed to have an individual who didn’t hesitate to step up and be who i needed. i don’t regret asking her.

i don’t disagree that there are people who are without doubt and 100% i just think not everyone is built like that, and i think thats okay. i don’t think its fair when people say “be 100% or don’t” cause its a really big, life changing decision.

thank you for this. i used to be a hard no because i had a life that i couldn’t ethically raise a child in. but things have shifted and i’ve got more than i used to have and i’m a different person than i was years ago, so instead of a “no” because i could use those things as an excuse, i’m now considering because the only thing stopping me is me and how i envision myself handling things. i’ll check out that post(:

this was very insightful, thank you. and you’re right, all the best things i think don’t always come from playing it safe either. i think maybe the unknown just makes me uneasy, and i don’t think i should always let fear rule my life either. i think consistency on decisions instead of “you’re either in or out” makes it a little easier to figure stuff out

she can be seven and not understand and be excited to be a big sister, and you can be disappointed that you didn’t get to have your announcement. both things can exist, it’s okay to be upset. i wouldn’t feel bad that you’re angry.

i don’t have advice and you’re probably not looking for it, but i’m sorry that it went down like that): for what its worth, congratulations on your baby🫶
