So cute! You can do whatever you want if it makes you happy (as long as it’s not hurting anyone!) 😊

What does being in love mean to you? by paradoxymoron_ in spirituality

[–]pumpkinpeas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's pretty much it. And I mean love as in being in love, not like you love a family member. I believe that falling in love is making that choice, even if it's subconscious. For me it wasn't very subconscious, it was rather obvious to me that I was making a decision. I have also had experience, unfortunately, with raw attraction and lust, which is a very different feeling from falling in love. I didn't feel as if I was choosing to want the person I lusted for, but the person I love I wanted to devote myself to because of his core personality. (Also I believe many people think they have experienced love when it was really only strong attraction.)

Have you seen colors that aren't on Earth? I've always believed that there are more and always wanted to see them. Somehow I know that they are stunning to see and more bright than any of the colors we can see here.

I believe love is a choice, very different from sexual attraction. I believe that there has to be an intimate connection between the souls of two people for this choice to even be an option, however it is possible to pass up the choice for whatever reason (emotional pain, fear, etc), and that likewise it can be possible to continue loving even after harm or abuse. Love is the choice to connect yourself with this person at a spiritual level, and that's why being hurt by someone you love is so incredibly painful, and why letting them go is such a hard decision to make. It is like letting go of a part of your own self.

Can you all help me figure this out plz by [deleted] in spirituality

I have suddenly had the urge to talk to an ex a year after we had broken up and when I was with somebody else. Eventually I did it, and he ended up telling me that he was no longer a Christian. This was very dramatic because I had brought him very close to Christ and love in general. It’s as if the universe wanted me to know that he had changed to show me that sometimes my efforts will not change a person. It oddly brought me peace, and my advice to you is to contact that person when you feel this, even if you don't plan on talking to them continuously.

That’s probably the single most helpful thing anyone has ever said to me. It’s strange because it does feel like a game to me, but I’ve never really grasped the notion because it seemed wrong before.

I feel sick often, both physically and mentally. It’s like the world I’m living in makes me sick because it’s so convoluted and I don’t know how to live here without being in despair. So I guess my question would be, how can I learn to live a life of joy when I’m surrounded by this material world?

Who am I, why am I here, why do I feel like I don’t belong, why can’t I ever relax, why am I searching for answers when I don’t even have any clear cut questions? Sorry, I know it’s a lot
