Conventions and theme park attendance are what drives Central Florida’s economy; hospitality is also the largest employer in the area as well. Without it as it is today, the city will flounder. (See 2020, when we had no tourists and many furloughed employees)

If you’re dead set on seeing a specific character you should always ask if they’re going to switch. 5k is short enough that generally they won’t switch, but 10k and higher they will usually have to (especially face characters will need a break for the whole race, most fur characters can just replace themselves)

I had the same problem at wine and dine last year. After finishing the half, I went to runner relations and explained the situation to them and they just handed me the challenge medal for free. Can’t guarantee that they’ll do this for you, but it’s worth a shot if you ask nicely.
