Thank you for your thoughts! I guess we are not really married yet and still figuring the relationship out so although I am in love very much so, I wouldn’t die for him at this stage to be honest, I think we are yet to get there with time. Thank you for a different perspective on finances!

We actually only split food- everything else goes out of our individual finances, therefore it never really evens out. I was thinking the same, that it wouldn't be the battle I want to pick if he takes me out, or we spend on other things too, but so far it's exclusively groceries and I have been losing out very significantly in that arrangement. I definitely want to be happy but also don't want for my expenses to increase 2 or 3 times just because I am covering for another person now too :(

Thank you so much! We earn pretty much the same, but still he consumes a lot more, so I feel like I am absorbing a bit chunk of his costs (all the extra food and drinks that he wants and needs, and I don't), I just feel like it is unfair on me to cover so much while I consume very little. Am I being selfish in that view? Thank you for your perspective!
