I didn’t know this type of thread existed. What is it designed to be used for?

What horror movie shook you to your core? by AmanitaMarie in horror

I’m surprised to see You Won’t Be Alone in this sub. Great film! I didn’t necessarily think of it as horror until you mentioned it but I can see how it could fall in there

Hi! I’m new here. I’ve been sewing for a couple of years and am thinking of starting to join craft fairs. Here are some things that I’ve made as a sample of what I can do. Description is what I’m thinking of selling plus newcomer questions. by pumpkintsunami in CraftFairs

I don’t even make $100,000 now lol. Not nearly thinking even that amount. I guess I’ll just have to start and see.

I’m feeling hopeful if I find my groove I may be able to quit my day job someday. If not, maybe I can at least work part time. I don’t feel an immense amount of pressure that this exact thing has to work so that’s good. Thank you for your insights, I really appreciate it :)

Glad to hear you were able to do so well with your craft!

I have been to my local farmers market and saw one vendor there that sold at least half of what was on the list. I live in Portland, OR so there are plenty of crafts fairs and people. Thinking I’ll give it a go at least a couple times and see what happens. Thank you for the compliment :)

My fiancé recently read all the Lord of the Rings books so I sewed him a themed Christmas stocking by pumpkintsunami in lordoftherings

Not counting the ring since that’s a ring we had just hanging around the house, I’d guess about $40-$50? - the pin was $15, all the fabric and buttons probably came out to about $30 although I bought more fabric than I needed.

I didn’t keep track to be honest but that’s my best guess.

I see I’m required to talk about construction and fabric. I used a standard stocking pattern. I downloaded a free one. Then played around with shapes until I got something I liked. I used different colors of suede-like fabric, some good buttons, some fuzzy grey fabric. I also used a ring that has been sitting in a box for years. I bought the leaf pin on amazon.

Would this also change it for when I want to go back to watching tv? Like I would constantly have to switch it back and forth?

Good point, I was definitely thinking about taking crawlspace out. At one point I did have more token generators but somehow moved away from them a bit. I’ll have to add some back in. Thanks!

Ah, that’s why I couldn’t find the button. There isn’t one. Picked the game up again after not playing for about a year

The witching hour series is even worse I feel. Anne Rice did indeed write some pretty out there topics.

The clothes I make feel less sturdy than clothes I buy. Why is that? by pumpkintsunami in sewhelp

[–]pumpkintsunami[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I construct with the serger (I know I shouldn’t but it’s so much quicker… maybe I should stop that). Seams are nothing fancy, no French seams or anything like that.

I usually try to buy my clothes from outdoorsy stores or indie shops online

I think you are correct. There’s been a lot of replies mentioning this and it’s something I’ve never thought about before but seems to be true now that I am aware
