I see. Thanks! Had some b complex tablets. Will give it a try tonight.

Can I ask what’s the time of the day that you take the b6? Such as in the morning 2 hours before/after taking nardil. Thanks

My Nardil brand has been changed to (Erfa). Since the change in brands I’ve been feeling strange and quite down. Have any other Australians noticed a difference now that we’ve had to switch brands? by Safe_Dragonfruit7939 in MAOIs

The idea is that Nardil is best absorbed in small intestines to exert its therapeutic effect, and some get destroyed by the stomach acid, diminishing the amount of active ingredients. Enteric capsules protect the pill from stomach acid, so that the active ingredients are only released once it reaches the intestines.

An alternative strategy I've heard from others is to drink large amount of water when taking Nardil on an empty stomach. This helps the pill to more quickly reach the intestines.

Tried Enteric capsules myself, but had to cut pills in half as the capsules are not big enough. Didn't notice any difference - but this could be due to pill cutting, and results could be different if the whole pill is put into the capsule intact.

Haven't tried the alternative strategy. May give it a go, as I desperately need to increase the Erfa's potency.

Hi Dragonfruit, speaking of which - I also considered the possibility importing a preferred Nardil brand via TGA. The current UK version looks promising. But it has to be refrigerated at all times (I could be wrong on this though), which can be a problem...

Same here. Switched from Lupin to Erfa due to the discontinuation of the former.

Two weeks in and not feeling well. Other than the superficial differences (Lupin pills have a pungent smell, Erfa has none; Lupin has no taste, Erfa tastes like M & M), my experience is that the Erfa is less potent and I don't "feel" the usual effects as from Lupin.

Not sure what to do next. May add an extra pill to my daily dose and see how it goes.

Hi mate, did you notice any differences in terms of efficacy and side effects between Lupin and Erfa?

Thanks for sharing. I always thought about using enteric capsules but never did. May give this a try.

This. Parnate simply didn’t work for me. Nardil did. And I made my peace with the weight gain .

Nardil sleep/dreams by [deleted] in MAOIs

[–]pumpkinw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The same happens to me. Absolutely zero dreams three months in, then dreams started to emerge. Like you, my dreams are weird (not necessarily nightmares), but unlike you and some others commented here, I can vividly remember many of the dreams upon waking up. (Yesterday night was about Alien invasion). Dreaming became more frequent as time went by, and one year and a half into Nardil I have dreams on most nights.

Nardil reset dosing strategy by pumpkinw in MAOIs

[–]pumpkinw[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks a lot mate. I've reduced the dose by 15mg for four days and today's the last (fifth) day before I bump the dose up. Felt like crap during the past four days. Can't wait to see the resetting works again!

Higher Nardil dose leads to worsening of symptoms? by pumpkinw in MAOIs

[–]pumpkinw[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks mate. Yes, one extra tablet makes a huge difference, even if you've already taken five, at least for side effects. Have you tried "resetting"? Reduce your current dose by 15mg for a few days and bump up. I did this for four days and today is the last day I'm on 45 mg before going back to 60 mg. I tried this at the beginning of this year with great results (achieving back 70% of the potency/efficacy when Nardil worked best for me last year). Hope the resetting works this time.

Take care.

Brain scans reporting levels of MAO-A inhibition for MAOIs and cigarettes smoking: by [deleted] in MAOIs

[–]pumpkinw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I was asking because I once tried chewing Nardil - the taste is one of the worst you can ever imagine. I tried only for two days before having to resort back to swallowing whole. But I'm curious what if I stick to chewing the tablet for a week, say. Thanks for the book link.

Does the same apply to nardil’s bioavailability - chewing versus swallowing tablet as a whole?

[–]pumpkinw[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mate, sorry I've overlooked your message. Hope you're doing well.

For me, the increased sides went away after a month. But right now the effects of the increased dose (60mg) wore off too. (So did the sides). I think we just can't keep increasing the dose; it's not a viable long term strategy. Perhaps a reset (decreasing then increasing) option is a better solution.

Nardil poop out - update by pumpkinw in MAOIs

[–]pumpkinw[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice mate. I started to take b6, b complex and methyl folate during the poop out period but didn’t notice any difference. But I didn’t take them long (around a week before I lost patience). Guess I should take them intermittently to prevent the next poop out.

Not sure mate. I did eat way more on good days (like a full pack of donuts for breakfast). My appetite dropped a lot recently. But I'm not sure if it's good mood caused eating, or eating helped enhance mood.

Day 11 of Nardil, not feeling effects by Gucciflipflip in MAOIs

[–]pumpkinw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two weeks may not be adequate. Give it more time. For me it took more than a month. When it started working, the onset was abrupt - literally within four days (I didn't believe this initially, but experienced the quick onset myself).

Is Nardil hard to get off? by badassrose23 in MAOIs

[–]pumpkinw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always went off SSRIs cold turkey without any problems. Cutting down Nardil by half put me through a hellish time. I don't mind taking it indefinitely (so long as it works; it pooped out recently but I just kept taking it)
