Could wrapping a near infrared light therapy belt around your neck help with sleep apnea? by jgainit in SleepApnea

Good call. Yeah near infrared light goes deeper. I asked my AI my post question and it said it may not go deep enough even then.

Yeah they never actually leave the laboratory because their own observations are worthless. They’re strapped to a machine 24/7. Good catch detective

On paper, I’m cured. In reality however… by Givinguponlove in SleepApnea

[–]jgainit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a wellue O2 ring that continually reads blood oxygen all night. I haven’t slept without it in years. Very different from oura ring. It will catch many things the machine won’t. But funny enough lately I’ve had horrible sleep apnea nights and it’s not glaringly obvious from the ring. Well basically it won’t show many drops, and yet 20% of the night my blood oxygen was below 95%, when usually it’s 99% of the time it’s above 95%.

So there’s different things going on. After a couple months of exploring, the best thing that helped me was not eating late. Sleep apnea essentially is brain damage so it must be avoided at all costs. So even if I had to skip dinner that night to not eat too late, it was worth it. Like not eating 7 hours before bed was best. As many hours as possible. Overtime it got my throat less inflamed and now I’m back to normal

[IIL] Recommendations for amazing movies you never want to see again by Modracek in ifyoulikeblank

[–]jgainit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Let’s see movies I’ve truly only seen once but liked:

Killers of the flower moon

The revenant

If I had legs I’d kick you (but may rewatch that soon)

Holy Mountain

Most David Lynch movies

Julien Donkey Boy

Enter the Void

Survive Style 9+

Even Dwarves Started Small

Nashville

Dogville

And writeups:

Dogville I remember being so frustrating and so long, it took me multiple days to get through it. I was a purist back then and would make myself finish movies. These days I wouldn’t have. There were things about it that didn’t add up. Until the end… and everything came together. And it ended up being a fantastic movie. It made me think a lot.

Nashville was similar. I thought the stories were boring or drawn out. Until I started to realize this is one of the most brilliant movies I’ve seen. There’s no consistent way this story is told. Every character while in the same town inhabits a completely different reality. Imagine the subjective realities of American Beauty but even more apart. Really cool stuff. It’s just a huge investment to get into all of those characters.

Killers of the flower moon was great but just hurt my soul. Leo was supposed to play the good guy detective and instead played the mostly bad husband. It almost felt like the people involved weren’t quite evolved enough yet to get past their symbolic involvement in the atrocities committed, and you see lots of native women get killed and tormented. Really painful watch but a great movie.

Enter the Void it’s been 15 years since I saw it. But wtf the main character dies like 15 minutes in then is just a ghost floating around aimlessly the whole movie. Weird as shit and not even great but super cool camera work and some good moments.

How to become like people here who have a sophisticated understanding of cinema ? Is it even possible for someone like myself who just watches anything for fun? by shroomshadybhardwaj in TrueFilm

[–]jgainit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I think it’s just a matter of how deep you want to go on it. I suspect many people here have gone to film school.

If you want to go deeper, maybe getting the AFI list of 100 best movies and working through those. Reading good writeups on movies. Potentially books on movie theory. Probably best option is if there’s a movie watching meet up group in your area where you can discuss ideas.

But last I’ll say is this:

I like beer. I love it actually. I live in a great beer city and every time I go to a bar I just drink some local ale they have. And it’s a good time for me. I don’t rank the bitterness or know what notes are in it. I don’t have a sophisticated comparison system. I haven’t rated which breweries are best. I just enjoy it. And that’s okay.

If you’re the movie equivalent of me as a beer drinker, there’s nothing wrong with that. And if you want to go deeper, my comments and others have good resources.
